NLD 14

Day @ the Beach

Postby Semper Gumby » Mon Aug 14, 2006 3:25 pm

9'r,

Thanks for the update.

I sent Beach a PM several weeks ago and didn't hear back but that works for me (his update).

I'll see if he wants to play alternate years with my club as I just got the local populace to warrant beer after the 7th inning now :P

Cheer when winning and losing

Heck, I run more trash when I am losing than winning.

If anything, my team has stopped its free fall since dropping [b:c559ac9a03]Chipper [/b:c559ac9a03]and hiring [b:c559ac9a03]Groundball Turnbow[/b:c559ac9a03]. Doing fine with the fielding and my fielding DPs are on the rise.

If I can get Drew to hit near his card expectations (really playing under the weather on power), my team might have a chance to close on .500.

So far, [b:c559ac9a03]Lance Berkman [/b:c559ac9a03]has been a nice replacement for [b:c559ac9a03]Albert Pujols [/b:c559ac9a03].

I was 28-35 after 3 weeks last season, so I am actually ahead by 2 wins.

Interestingly enough my LOTO Tourney team (League B) was 28-35 after 3 weeks, and is now 88-59. In other words it is doing better than my NLD 13 team did.

Unlike in NLD, where I made some changes, I left that team completely alone ...

I need to talk the Jet into making some moves. Hopefully, he'll be in a passive mood after a nice long vacation. :D Not likely if you know Joe. 8)

I've lost 2 series in a row, hopefully just a blip. It's hard to win at Braumeisters place though, so I'll take the one win there last night.

Bullpen Catcher is Working Out Great

Postby Semper Gumby » Wed Aug 16, 2006 6:01 am

Seems we just needed a real jokester in the bullpen to put an end to the bad attitudes harboring in the relief corps.

Of course, I love how HAL finds time to give four of my players a vacation this past series

Berkman (back now)
Mauer (2 trip to DL)
Gudz (need time off to locate Joe)
Perez (wanted time off to work on his golf swing)

Where Have All the Guys Gone?

Postby Semper Gumby » Wed Aug 16, 2006 10:38 am

With the recent bullpen change, we're going to add the [b:9802a46311]Jessica Simpson[/b:9802a46311] bobble chest doll for this weekend's series. :D

I hope to have a sell out crowd as we did draw only 12,000 for our [b:9802a46311]Jose Canseco power bar[/b:9802a46311] give away.

On Jessica Simpson booble chest doll day is your attendance automatically multiplied by two?
