LOTO Tourney League "D"

Talk about close!

Postby Jeepdriver » Fri Aug 18, 2006 7:48 am

Once again a 3-way tie for the 6th and final spot to advance.

Looking at my record vs the other two, I hold the advantage over each team. 8-4 vs the Smugglers and 7-5 over Desierto.

Who will make this final spot?

After a very good 1st half...

Postby ROBERTVOZZA » Fri Aug 18, 2006 2:06 pm

My team has underperformed so badly down the stretch that I still haven't secured the final spot yet. BOBBY's Mania own the tiebreakers against my team as do LMB's Tickets...but I own the tiebreakers against Alphonso.

This should and could have been secured ANY time the past week. All I reall need is 1 win out of my sorry 2nd half bunch or 1 loss by the tickets to secure the spot in the 2nd round. I have little faith in my team to pull it out with a win(As they have disappointed me every time they could have secured this). So I am hoping my Pal Al will find a way to win at least 1 from LMB.

Looks like there are lots of decent races for the remaining spots to make the 2nd round...GL to everyone on this the Final day of Round 1.

BTW, with Giddup's team at 97 wins with 3 to play, you gotta' gives him a huge "Hats Off!!" - Just that many wins in a LOTO league is a sensational feat...But earlier in the season, he had a 13 game losing streak - making his record truly amazing.

I would like to withdraw my team from this league based on lack of interest in winning games by my players. Is it too late!!?

Don't worry Jeep, I won't be snagging the last spot. My team's tailspin is at an epic proportion.

If I got all of the games correctly, I am in trouble for tiebreakers:

Smugglers 2-6
Flukes 9-15
Pony 3-9
Desierto 8-4

Makes me wonder who I have played well against this year.

Well dctrcpa, we went 6-6 head to head and I have the 2nd to worst record in the league. I'm sure you beat up on some guys during the season besides Desierto....but who??? :?

Good luck everyone who makes it to the next round!! :D

Kev - your comment makes me want to see my record against the other half of the league that I have not already examined.

I made the 6th spot, and there wasn't even a tie. :)

Good luck to the Division winners and WC in the p/offs. I'll post the Top 6 below.

Good luck to all of the playoff teams and to the teams that made it to Round 2 of this tourney!! :)

I would also like to send out a special thank you to Maligned who approached me about a trade for CFers that resulted in my getting Vernon Wells. VW suddenly gave my line-up support against the high number of LHSP in my division by hitting about .340 w/ a .740 slugging % vs LHP.

Also, a late season injury to Lance Berkman enabled me to get 2 more lefty mashers for the home stretch. LeCroy (17 HRs) and Franceour (11 HRs) both provided big-time power in just over 100 ABs.
