2006 LOTO Tournament Round I League B

My team has done its usual 06' nosedive...

Postby ROBERTVOZZA » Thu Aug 17, 2006 4:20 pm

...Down the stretch...Every one of them was doing great at midseason and then fell apart the last 45 games. I really haven't figure out this 06' set yet to where I have a good command of the players.

Just a few days ago, I had a 6 or 7 game lead for the #6 spot - Now with Alphonso charging like a freighttrain, I am holding on for dearlife. If I could just stop getting swept so much, I could probably have secured that spot days ago. But nothing has been consistent at all with this bunch of players. Very scary...Here's wishing myself good luck for a change...At this point, I'd be happy to back into it for once. Robert

Thanks Robert for the good wishes, but my squad missed a nice chance last night to get in there. We can't beat our way out of a paper bag.....

Looks like Cha Chas and Mania just need to win one game to clinch the final two spots. Tickets and USA play each other and one of them would have to sweep the other and hope that either Cha Chas or Mania get swept, and even then you'd have to win the tiebreaker scenerio.

Good Luck you guys !! It's been quite a humbling experience, count me in next year. From here on out I ride off into Fantasy Football Land, my tail between my legs....

Whether or not I get a W tonite or a LMBomber loss, you are always welcome in any LOTO Leagues...Including a Consolation League I will put together for anyone who didn't make the 2nd round here - including myself - Even if I do make the next round, I will be the 1st alternate if the consolation League needs a player.

My Division has been tough as nails. I am very fortunate to still have a chance at the 2nd round on the last day of the season...

Definitely got m fingers crossed. Robert

Congrats to all who advance and thanks again to [b:bf075a2a44]Rob[/b:bf075a2a44] for putting this together. It was fun and competitive as always!

I thought I was pretty much out of it from the end of week one (it's pretty hard to win with Edmonds hitting below the Mendoza line and Carl "Yeah But I Hit in the Clutch" Everett third on your team in RBIs!) [i:bf075a2a44]and[/i:bf075a2a44] managing to have the leagues worst pitching staff all at the same time!!

Still, I hung around and managed to be within a series or two of sending the entire division to the second round! Not bad for last place!

I learned too late (and too late for the tour also) that '06 is all about [i:bf075a2a44]net[/i:bf075a2a44] homers, not just [i:bf075a2a44]offensive[/i:bf075a2a44] SLG. [b:bf075a2a44]Giddyup[/b:bf075a2a44] (+87), [b:bf075a2a44]Edge[/b:bf075a2a44] (+99) and [b:bf075a2a44]AT[/b:bf075a2a44] (+91) showed us all how it's done. Nice job gang!

Thx again [b:bf075a2a44]Rob[/b:bf075a2a44] and once more, thx and congratulations to all!

Good luck in Round Two!

That was a tough league...And I am looking forward to my opportunity to do better on my 2nd try here. That is one of the worst 2nd half performances of any team I ever had.

GL to all those who made the playoffs. I will publish a list of the teams that will be playing in Round 2.

And Thank you everyone else for your fine efforts here in LOTO League B of round one.

Well I finished on a winning note, and without any injuries (didnt bench anyone) so I am pleased. :)

I'll share some thoughts after the playoffs end. :)

Congratulations and good lucky to giddyup81 & edgecitytx. Both teams swept through their opponents in the Semis ... including mine unfortunately :( ... will be interesting to see how the Finals shape up.
