AL Only League / 60 mil cap & Live Draft

Our historical single season sets

I am apparently behind the curve already in the '69 game. I can't believe how many high priced players have gone in a $60 mil cap league!

Everyone is wrapping up 30-40% of their cap in 3 players? That seems insane!?!

Gene,

After just going through it in the sister league NL draft I can tell you it was the same dynamic there.

The issue is that the total value of the entire limited player pool (at least in the NL) is barely over $720M (or $60M * 12). That means that virtually all players are going to be used. If you don't pick the high salary guys you want early, you will be put into a situation at the end where you're way under cap and will HAVE to at that point pick up the higher priced leftovers (whether they fit your team or not), or else you'll have dead cap money.

You will see plenty of < 1M guys going in the later rounds of this draft.

Gene,

in the 24 team draft, which is similar to this one (twice the teams but includes AL and NL), I picked near thet top salary of the available players with all my picks, and I ended up right at $60 Million for my 24 man roster.

You will end up with a couple of Starters that are in the $1 to $2 million range. The talent disappears fast.

Anybody interested in Hunter and Palmer?

I forgot which park I had and have not drafted wise.

I will take trades for immediate draft picks if that is allowed. If not, I will gladly deal as soon as time permits.

I see it Hak. Not really what I had in mind considering that 3 guys I would have wanted with that pick were just taken. Makes it almost not even worth making a trade anymore.

Give me 3 minutes to decide.

Hak-

Replied to your PT and made the offer on Penn's site.

We will need approval from others to make it work once you accept.

I just approved the trade. Need one more approval on Penns site.

This changes the ownership of the current pick on the clock from Hak to Sykes so need the 2nd approval to continue.
