Awesome!

A playoff series and a new team on the same day! I'm definitely staying up, now :-)

I went for a pitching team in Oakland, thus saving Jack Murphy for round 4 if I should advance.

Anyone care to reveal draft order before the draft?

I had Sandberg first and Eric Davis/Tony Fernandez were my next two (can't remember which I put higher).

The only way I can describe my draft is by borrowing Marlon Brando's last lines from the movie "Apocolypse Now"....

"The horror...the horror"

Mine was horrid, too.. but as Nigel Tufnel, lead guitar for spinal tap once said, "I'll rise above it" :-)

I went 19 for 25. 4 misses from my bottom 7.

Got Gubizca instead of Steib, Glenn Davis instead of Keith Hernandez and neither LaValliere or Cerone to catch.

Oh well. That's what waivers are for.

I missed somewhere around 12-13 players. But when you get Whitaker instead of Sandberg, Neikro instead of Reuschel, and a decent waiver spot because of it, you can't complain too loudly. :)

Missed on 7: the #5 placeholder, 2 $0.75 cent relievers, got Guante instead of Tekulve, 2 backup catchers, and (ouch) on Tony Fernandez.

Franco at SS in a pitcher's park? I'm very tempted b/c of the BA, and I don't think defense is as important in a pitcher's park. (In a hitter's park, you can't afford to give away outs, because you're gonna pay for them eventually, but a single here and there in a pitcher's park probably isn't a disaster.)

I would trade Guerrero and a player for one of the upper-tier SS's, though. :D

I only hit on 10 players, 4 of which were role players (samuel, bailor, heep, and Cerone). That left me with only 6 players i wanted. OUCH! at least i got Ryno and Mattingly.
