Btw does clutch only come into effect when there are 2 outs, or can it occur when there is only 1 out? Y. Molina, when you consider the 10 BP Single roll and +9 Clutch, could conceivably end up having more than just the 17 hit chances vs. rh pitching in that situation.

Clutch is only 2 outs + runner in scoring position...

Molina probably had about a 15% chance of getting a hit. Not like it was nothing, obviously we get hits like that too, the point is during this bad streak (most of the season) guys like Molina get those hits like they're Pujols. :(

Ugh, at this point, I think we'll just stick with this team and see if they turn it around. I mean, there's NO WAY Smoltz is this bad in this park. Even if RHB NEVER roll on his card they shouldn't be hitting > .300!

That being said, make an offer, all reasonable ones will be considered.

One more point on this guy - you gotta remember his real home park is the best hitter park in MLB. There is no way he replicates his card in SOMO facing better pitchers & an environment downgrade. TX park is a 19 BR HR for LH hitters so even Safeco at 14 is going to cause him to miss 6-8 HRs...

Silver,

Understood, but he's still far behind what you'd expect for a guy with 8 BPHRs and 6.2 real. He hit is 14 tonight while hitting 43 last year!

As for us, our luck continues. A Rod here we come!

Manage to win one from the Mighty Silver. Then in game two, manage to out hit him 6-4 and out walk him, BUT, he leaves 2 on base while we leave 6 and we lose yet ANOTHER 1 run game.

Game 3 isn't quite as bad, lose 3-2 again when Carrasco gives up hits to Figgins and Reyes to help Smoltz to a 5.1, 3 run, 8 base runner game. That's our "ACE" for ya! Sabathia is CLEARLY soooo much a better pitcher than Smoltz. I mean, after all, his ERA is half of Smoltz' he MUST be better right??

Yeesh, this is getting old. Some times this game just stinks.

A big test on the road last night against the Central leading Dragons, in which a 5 run 9th inning rally (in Game 1) kept us from sweeping. Very pleased coming out of that place with two wins despite that one meltdown. We'll take it.

WE WIN A SERIES, WE WIN A SERIES.

A sure sign of the apocalypse! :P

Course, the one game we lose is a, you guessed it, one run loss in which we give up 4 runs in the top of the 9th. Grand slam by Pujols (not like he's chopped liver) against Hermanson. Some day our pen will perform somewhere close to their stats. :( Carrasco is the only guy with an ERA under 5.00 and he's still a run over his ERA from last year. Oh, and we allowed two unearned runs in that game (of course). Wilson (1e14) makes his 11th error of the season, then Mackowiak (who dies in the clutch) drives in 2 runs.

With a good outing Maddux now has a lower ERA than Smoltz! Guess I shouldn't be complaining. :P

Hawk's not gonna be my buddy anymore if I beat up on him again like I did last night.Sorry Hawk.

Can't gain much ground on the equally hot QK, but at least for right now I'm matching him win for win. :)

Well, back to normal. :(

Odalis out pitches Smoltz who gives up 10 runners in 5 IP and is inexplicably pulled by Hal after walking the leadoff hitter in the 6th (slow hook) in a game we trail 2-1. Odalis Perez is just sooo much better than Smoltz it's hard to believe we stayed close enough to lose 4-2.

The second loss comes down to Hammond continuing to be brutal. His ERA is now > 6. Over 2 runs greater than his ERA in real life. Course, Hal sticks with him long enough to give up 4 runs when we were up 7-5 in the 8th with Carrasco and Hermanson ready to come in. :? Blah. I know everyone faces that however. We just can't buy a break even when it comes to Hal.

But, hey, we didn't give up an unearned run this series! Miracles do happen! ;) AND Myers actually pitched well in game three and we won a 2-0 game!

Brutal night in night out. Someone tell me why this team is sooooo bad. :( Is this really the worst offensive team in the league? It's hard for me to believe that.
