Me.

I am in first place in my division again in Round 5. I could stop playing and lock in a finals appearence if I win that division even w/o winning the championship for that season.

I'm not the type to pull a Boggs and sit the last day of the year to get my batting title though. :P

It'll be interesting to see how the standings change once managers start dropping their worst team. Remember, you can drop your lowest score if you play 6 or 7 events.

For instance, right now I am in 42nd with a 90.3 average. My first and third teams qualified for the playoffs, but my second team was a clunker with a 75-87 record. My fourth team is assured of a playoff spot with nine games left in the regular season (seven-game lead in division and nine-game lead plus tiebreaker on wild-card).

Let's say it winds up with 90 wins and a division title for a total of 100 points heading into the postseason. If you drop my 75 and replace it with 100, my average goes from 90.3 to 98.7! And if I somehow manage to get lucky and win the World Series and get an additional 10 bonus points, my average (discarding my lowest score) would be over 100! That would put me solidly in position for a spot in the Champions League.

Of course, I assume that other managers ahead of me could also get to drop bad teams, so everybody's score will change (or at least those of us who play in more than five events). But it will be interesting to see how the standings start to change after round 6 is complete.

The scores are supposed to be automatically updated after each league completes.

Well, I think everyone hopes they can win it all-- Probably 50 managers or so who could win it and there are so many good players. My choices would be

[b:2c92c4e1bf]Marcus Wilby [/b:2c92c4e1bf] Knows about as much about the game as anyone

[b:2c92c4e1bf]Uncle NY[b][/b:2c92c4e1bf] Defending champ and one of the top players

[b:2c92c4e1bf]qksilver[/b:2c92c4e1bf] tough to beat

So many more like Jerlins (don't know if he is in the Tour) , or anyone on Jaydingness's list including himself. Anyone of 50.

Probably have to average around 100 to make it. What do others think?
