Overall I think we did pretty good time-wise in getting the draft done and teams entered into a league. I mean there are 24 people living 24 different lives, dealing with wives, family obligations, kids, religious holidays, and all sorts of things. Given all that I think we did exceptionally well keeping the draft going and getting this very long process completed.

I am looking forward to what I think will be a fun theme league :!:

You all just need to figure out who the other 11 teams are that will be joining me in the finals league. :P

You guys have all that going on? Family obligations? I just drink V.O. and play Strat and bet NFL games. Could this explain my estranged family and two ex-wives? I'll ponder this tonight over a fresh half gallon and a live draft.

It looks like you went the right way Splinter. My plan was to go after hitting and then Messersmith had to fall to me and then Ron Reed in rd 3. I consider those the two best pitcher values in a small park and could not pass on them. My original plan was to go for the top power hitter followed by Cleon and Buford.

Now I will have to pitch 13 inning shutouts to win a game!

C - Ellis and Haller platoon. No defense. Ellis is a fair hitter vs LHs, Haller is...a weak LH bat. Ugly!
1b - Killibrew. Power and OBP. Can't be hurt. My #1.
2b - Millan. The only 1 range in the 69 game and can't be hurt. No stick.
SS - Campaneris. Speed and a 3 defense. No stick and 15 gamer.
3b - Melton. 3 for defense, a little pop, and a 3 gamer.
LF - Whitaker. At least he's not a 4 in the OF. 15 gamer.
CF - R. Smith. Excellent arm, 2 range with good power, better vs LHs. 15 gamer.
RF - Fairly. Another 3 in the OF and a 15 gamer. I could have my entire OF go down for up to 15 games
SP - T. John. The "ace" of my staff.
SP - McGlothlin. It gets ugly after this.
SP - C. Dobson
SP - Nash
SP - Burbach
RP - Upshaw
RP - Secrist
RP - Sprague
RP - Moeller
RP - Wickersham
Might be serviceable if HAL would use them accordingly, as they are a true platoon pen. However, we all know how HAL likes to manage the RPs. So, the battle cry on my team will be DUCK!

After seeing all your teams, I sort of don't hate mine! In Municipal (10, 10, 3, 3)
Vs. L
Tovar CF AA 1-17
Wills SS A 1-17
Buford LF 1-16
Allen 1B 1-16
Pagan RF (see Hart)
Hart DH (Good cheap card vs. L in a pitcher's park)
Scott 3B
Etchebarran C
Alomar 2b A 1-17

vs. R
Tovar 2b
Kenney 3b A 1-16
Buford Lf
Allen DH
Scott 1b
Hovley rf B 1-14
Etchebarran C
Tartabull cf 1-15
Wills SS
I am going to run the bejebus out of my guys around the bases and try to "steal runs" and wait for a pop from Allen

Pitching
SP Niekro, LeMaster, Downing (no BP Singles vs. L), Blass (who can also Close), Krauss
RP Closer Hartstein (or even Mudcat Grant vs. Righties)
Set-up Reichert
Major reliever Neiburger (No BP Singles at all)!
Mop up Morehead

SO WHAT DO YOU PEOPLE THINK?

I think Sneezedoc has an excellent(relative) team. The starting 9 are solid with good to decent pitching
