It might be already mentioned in here somewhere, but I'm too lazy to look.....

Are we drafting stadiums as well?

I believe so, at the end of the draft, in reverse order (in other words, I am last..... )

Old Geezer is correct - ballparks are being drafted in the last round of the draft.

Also - [b:22236b71d1]Important Reminder[/b:22236b71d1] - if you protected [b:22236b71d1]TWO[/b:22236b71d1] players rather than one, then you must draft a scrub in the 2nd to last round. If you only protected [b:22236b71d1]ONE[/b:22236b71d1] player then you may draft any available player.

I thought we could draft stadiums at anytime. Why does it have to be the last round?

I guess I missed this part also...but why am I penalized for keeping two players just beacause others didn't???? That doesn't seem right...

tkl33: This was all explained in the post made August 11th around 10am but I'll repost it after this post.

Anyway - as stated in the rules:

[b:1f3b3759f7]3 - For every player you protect, you lose 1 draft pick, from the end of the Draft. [/b:1f3b3759f7]

Therefore since everyone has protected at least 1 player, everyone lost 1 draft pick ... and if you protected 2 players then you lose 2 draft picks (#15 & #16) ... but rather than have every owner draft a scrub in the 16th round, to me it made sense to have everyone use the last round to post their ballpark.

Actually we're not drafting ballparks at any time during the draft for the simple reason that is explained in Rule 4.

[b:1f3b3759f7]4 - Due to the large number and variety of Ballparks (70), I see no reason at this time to enforce unique stadiums. If 3-4 owners routinely end up with the same park, then we can re-introduce that rule. [/b:1f3b3759f7]

Therefore - all the last round is doing is having people declare what ballpark they are using. If you want to use the same ballpark as another owner - that is fine - just draft any ballpark during the draft and say "I am also using XXX Stadium like Owner Y".

In the end I don't see what the big deal is because to ensure we all have the same # of autodraft picks, owners who protected 2 players are going to have to have [b:1f3b3759f7]ONE LESS[/b:1f3b3759f7] live draft pick - hence drafting a scrub.

[b:a125a6a737]Re-Post of August 11th Post: with minor revision[/b:a125a6a737]

Meanwhile Poll I results have determined that it will be a sixteen (16) round draft. Please remember that if you're keeping 1 player, you lose your 16th round selection, and if you're keeping 2 players you'll lose your 15th & 16th round selections. What would occur is simply that you can either draft an E. Andres type player, or hit the SKIP button on the draft site.

[b:a125a6a737]However, because everyone has protected at least 1 player, I have a suggestion ... since everyone will not be using the last round of the draft, let us instead make it a round where ballparks are drafted (declared actually - since multiple use of ballparks are allowed). That way ballparks are declared in the reverse order of the 1st round AND we don't waste a round for no reason*. Owners who protected 2 players instead of one, would of course still draft a scrub/skip turn in the 15th round.[/b:a125a6a737]

Also results of Poll II have determed that divisions, at least for Season VII, will be based on Draft Order with 1/4/7/10, 2/5/8/11, 3/6/9/12 format. I would recommend that we use the same divisional setup for at least 2 seasons, and return to the issue, if there is any interest, at the start of Season IX.

* - I did originally state that ballparks did not need to be unique for Season VII, due to the vast # of parks, but if there is a demand we can also stick with tradition and go with 12 unique parks. Of course with so many parks, even if someone takes your favourite pitcher park, you should still be able to find a similar park available.
