Best of the Best Jr.

Hizzy's team looks pretty strong at 1st glance. If you think it is hard to build a team with Johnson and Bonds at 29M+ with an 80M team - it has got to be tough tofit 23 players into 31M of cap in a 60M team. But, if you can make it work, with guys like Freel and Young at leadoff for less than 3.5M you can ride those 2 big horses quite a ways.

Yeah, it will be interesting to see how they do with two players taking up almost half  of the cap room.

We're in their division so I guess we'll get to see them a lot. :(

Might be time to change our intentional walk setting, eh Jet? :D

I wasn't sure I wanted to do it. I'm a little torn thinking about getting a little more quantity. However since I ended up w/ both of them its hard to give them up. So I think I'll keep them. I was hoping to end up w/ 4-man rotation, since I put so much into Johnson.

I was fortunate to get all 5 of the relievers I wanted. I figured I could go cheap on R2's and use Wickman as a 1 inning closer.

It's an interesting strategy. I'm very curious to see how it does in a league like this. I really have no idea what to expect here.

This is my first attempt at anything other than an 80 mil league. Didnt get my #2,3, 4 or 5 choices ( Pedro, Manny, Kerry Robinson, Johan) although I didnt really expect to get Johan. My intention was to get an *SP down in price from him but got Zambrano which was a tad more expensive than I wanted to spend.

This type of league seems to be all about getting the values and even if you do that, there is no guarantee that the dice will treat you kindly since there are plenty of empty columns in our lineups.

By the way, I may be willing to move Adam Dunn, Vance Wilson or Jeff Davanon. However, I believe that I need the same things that everyone else needs. GOOD CHEAP PLAYERS!!

:D Greetings, I am really resmanjr. This is my second 60 mil league I started. The first one was Best of the Best, so this is Best of the Best Jr. I have the first pick in the waiver draft, first time ever. Interesting choices available. I have considered going after AROD and getting Lowell late cause no one ever gets him, but with Johnson and another team with two LT starters, this could be an interesting strategy. I could move Figgins to OF with Marrero and lay in wait for Johnson and the other LT starters, build the rest of the team to smack RT starters. As usual, bullpens are shallow so targeting SP is a strategy I like. I play in alot of 60 mil leagues, currently moved into first place in the other one I am in, had to drop a starter and upgrade by downgrading CF after being about 9 games under 500, now in first.
I also play 60 mil in ATGII. I will comment on comments about IW settings, IW doesn't help unless a base is open, I live for the day someone puts a double hitter in front of Bonds instead of a guy who gets lots of walks.
I am an unknown and I am a rookie but I might surprise you. As predicted, players grabbed one top hitter and pitcher and went cheap on bullpens, except a couple. Of course I did not do well in my draft, otherwise I would not be first in waiver picks. You drafted well and this will be more competitive than I thought. Thanks for joining.
Gotta go talk to some agents now to discuss waiver contracts. Take care and see you on the ball field.

Hey Res,

Glad you checked in, I was wondering when the league creator would put in an appearance. :)

Sounds like the wheels are spinning out there, I think it's going to be an active waiver and FA frenzy. Is that the norm for 60 mil leagues?

Back to scouting....
