[b:80115ba4b0]Even Stevens League Rules: [/b:80115ba4b0]
* Regular AD/Advanced/Weighted Waivers/Progressive Drop Penalty/$80M/DH
1) Everyone will play in one of four parks/One in each Division. Include your park when you sign-up placing yourself in any Division that's open.
* These are "even" parks
Miller
Yankee
Turner
Metrodome
2) Everyone must own one of the following "even" hitters:
1-Ensberg
2-Vlad
3-B Giles
4-Lee
5-Konerko
6-M Young
7-D Johnson
8-Iguchi
9-Belliard
10-LaRue
11-Overbay
12-Langerhans
* See below on how to handle owning one of these hitters
3) Everyone must own one of the following "even" pitchers. Note six are SP's and six are RP's:
1-Peavy
2-Sheets
3-Zito
4-J Contreras
5-Myers
6-CC Sabathia
7-Politte
8-Helling
9-T Jones
10-Shields
11-B Thompson
12-Spurling
* See below on how to handle owning one of these pitchers
4) Maximum ONE platoon per team, since this is an "even" league. This does not include reserve players. If an injury forces someone to use reserves, it would be OK for said reserves to platoon. But, ONLY due to an injury. Starting Position players limited to ONE set of platoon guys.
5) Other than owning 2 of the above "even" players (1 Hitter and 1 Pitcher) there are no limits on further "even" players. Those "even" players not on the above list may be owned or not owned at each Mnagers discretion. For example, Maddux is an "even" pitcher not on the above list. Any Manager may own him, or he may sit in Free Agents all year, it doesn't matter.
6) Obviously, "even" players (from the list of 24 above) regardless of whether they are hitters or pitchers can NOT be dropped at any time. An "even" player MAY be traded, but only for another "even" player. Also, you wouldn't be able to trade an "even" hitter for an "even" pitcher. Just hitter for hitter and pitcher for pitcher.
7) All other standard TSN Strat rules apply, Roster Size, etc. You're free to work your Pitching staff as you choose as long as it's within the normal rules of game play and you abide by the "even" rule.
***HOW TO OWN THE "EVEN" HITTERS AND PITCHERS
A. Basically it's any way you want to with one exception. You can't put more than One "even" hitter AND One "even" pitcher on your draft card. This has to be by the honor system, so please abide by this rule. Forgetting or making a mistake in this will automatically make you have to pick your "even" hitter and pitcher last. IOW, you'll get the guys you don't want.
B. You don't have to put an "even" player on your draft card. You may "take a chance" and wait for waivers or even after waivers if you want to. As long as you own TWO of the above 24 "even" players (1 hitter and 1 pitcher) it doesn't matter how you obtain them as long as you don't put more than two on your draft card of course. If you choose to wait, however, you could get stuck with a guy you don't want obviously. Strategy will be involved in this process. All teams without one of the above "even" players after waivers it will be first come first serve. For example, if you know you can't make the mini-frenzy right after waivers, you probably don't want to gamble by not putting one of those players on your draft card.
