2006 LOTO TOUR - ROUND 2 - LEAGUE B

Postby Jerlins » Sat Sep 09, 2006 8:13 am

I went with an opposite strategy, picking mostly hitting first (except for Heilman who I believe I ranked 4th  ). Still got a nice crop of LH SP's for my Safeco team, missing out on Willis. Petitte is on my "never again" list in spite of him most likely doing well at Safeco. I'm somewhat happy with some tinkering to do. At least I don't have to hope and pray that a decent 2nd or SS will fall to me in waivers and can focus on other positions.

Would still like a stud but you can't have everything in an autodraft. Happy tinkering everyone!!! And of course, I live for trading so offer away!!!

DJ - I had SMoltz and Pevy ranked 5/6 and liked my chances of getting one or both of them. Oh well.

My top 5 were:
Tejada
Heilman
M Cabrera
Griffey
Smoltz
Peavy

I got 16 of the 25 players on my draft card, but wound up with the 5th waiver pick since I missed out on more of my higher players. Thank you weighted waivers!

Doc, I shoulda done my homework

I remember you mentioning Tejada now.

I got 19 of 25 total. Biggest surprise on the player I didn't get was Todd Walker. I thought I would be the only Manager going for him so he was toward the bottom.

Have yall looked at FA's? In both Hitters and Pitchers there's 2 of 3 good high-salaried guys, then boom, a big drop-off. A high waiver pick for this league is probably more important than in just a regular $80M league.

BTW My Top 10 were:

Cabrera
Tejada
Bay
Utley
Ichiro
Valentin
Kotsay
T. Jones
Howard
Beckett

I was originally thinking I had Clark in the top bunch, but upon reviewing my draft card I put him toward the bottom in case he was one of those unexpected 'not drafted guys.'

The best thing to do is e-mail TSN from the "contact us" link and "urge" them to do it ASAP.

Very interesting set-up of teams. My best hope is that I'm ahead by 7 runs entering the 9th. so I might be able to eek out a win.

Disappointments:
I actually clicked on Roberts for Counsel, hit the yes button, and was beat by probably a second. What's irritating is that I hemmed and hawed for a good minute and finally decided to pull the trigger. Had the coin at the time, and have found myself spending the extra coin for the sake of spending.
Lost out on both Wagner and Heilman resulting in a real problem. Now into a hole I don't think I've climbed out of. Have to hope Hal handles the pen as I would. Leaving it up to Hal though......yikes!

Anyways, I'm always open for a decent trade. Give me a holler if anything interests any of you!

We're off and running! :D Good luck to everyone! I wound up with 4 platoons, which I would not have expected going in. Then again with a $100M cap, it is easy to see how that can happen.

From the League A thread posted by ArrylT:

[quote:2a4a3f6a09]Way to go guys! Although League B started a thread a day earlier - we have already passed them in posts & thread visits. Just goes to show our determination, and is a foreboding of our teams slaughtering theirs in the final league.
