Playoffs

Postby YountFan » Sat Sep 09, 2006 12:22 pm

The playoffs could in interesting this year. Hak dominated, but the central was a battle to the end and the Breaker guys had a hard time in the west.

Are the Hakers over confident? Are they sharp after coasting in 1st most of the season?

Are the Knights and Violas tired after their three way battle in the central witht eh Express? If you're playing the Viola's watchout, you know how HAL loves the wildcard team.

Are the Breakers the sleepers/spoilers I think they can be? They ended the season hot. Will the magic continue in the playoffs?

Boy, I feel like Adali Stevenson....."Hurts too bad to laugh and I'm too old to cry."

Tough race and the wild card playoff ended up being a best 2 out of 3 series between my Express and the Violas. On paper I would have taken Jose DeLeon over Bill Gullickson in the final game, but DeLeon gets hurt and Gullickson steps up with 6 shutout innings with help from Darryl Strawberry helping the Violas claim the final playoff spot...

Good luck on the second season, You know how HAL loves the underdog.

Always a bridesmaid,

My first post was before the final game was played, I did not have a good feeling going into it. The Violas matched up very well with me, and had the pitching edge throughout. It took a Murphy walk off HR in the bottom of the 10th to win it.

now I need to go look at the Knights and see if I match up.

Rematch

Postby BC Manager » Thu Sep 14, 2006 11:03 am

Congrats to BJS and IMB on their strong seasons. Kind of glad I don't have to face the Violas in the final since they were such a pain in my ass all season long.

The final is actually a rematch of the 1985 final, and I'm hoping for the same outcome. I'm eager to see how this one goes. My team this year is the best one I've put together all decade, but I'm up against arguably the best team that there's been, all decade.

Let's get ready to rumble!

I am hoping the crown stays in the east.

That was a bad way to start off the finals.

Looks like the Hakers are failing to perfor when playoff time roles around once again.

Yikes.
