Huge series for me to win last night, playing not only a hot team but my closest pursuer in the WC chase. Penny and Wang had complete game shutouts as I won primarily on pitching rather than the normal way of out-scoring my opponent.

Still no breathing room though in a hotly-contested Division, even more so obviously playing all inter-Divisional games these last 18.

Meanwhile our woes continue, two more one run losses (and a 6 run win! :shock:) including one in the bottom of the 9th. <sigh> What else is new. The other was a fall behind and can't quite come back game. Glavine got lit up.

On the bright side, Tex finally hit another HR (#21)! :shock: Valentin has 26 in 200 less at bats. I don't know whether to think we're lucky with Valentin or unlucky with Tex. ;)

Another comment, wouldn't you think a team that has 3 1's on the infield and SPs with 6,6,11,0 would be close to the top of the league in DPs? It's not like we haven't had guys on base! We're 4th. Barely ahead of Trenchtown a team with YOung at SS and a 3 at 3rd with no 1's at all.

We have a 3-0 lead going into the 7th. Guaranteed to lose in this situation. Glavine gives up 2 and is replaced by Hawkings to face Counsell. Not bad I guess, but THEN Hal brings in Flores to face WELLS :shock: then PULLS him against Lamb in favor of Madson, by some miracle Madson gets out of the inning, but an error and a single by Redmond against Madson (we *thought* Madson was a Hard RHP?) to lose the game. Smoltz returns to his worthless ways giving up 7 runs, 6 earned to be out pitched by Sosa. :lol: Only against us, with 6 LHB in the lineup. I mean, EVERYONE knows that Sosa is waaaay better than Smoltz! :lol: :lol: :lol: Oh, did I mention that Adam Everett hit 2 HRs against us in this game and one in the finale? He's got more jacks than J Rod does for us.


We lose a 4-2 game in the finale. Would have been a one run game, but Carrasco gives up an insurance run in the.....top of the 9th of course! Totally handcuffed by Odalis Perez. That stud.
