[quote:299562c716="Jablowmi"]Pillpop, that works re: trading, but I agree with YF's sugestion that "studs cannot be dropped, but if you do it must be for a sub 4 million dollar guy." This way, only 12 $4M+ pitchers will be used.[/quote:299562c716]

I like the above rule better too.

I am in if there is no drop/add of stud players. If this rule isn't changed I would prefer to pass on this league. (just replace me then)

I agree with the Bombers - no dropping of studs. And this is coming from a guy with Sandberg hitting .188!

How about you can only drop a stud to pick up another stud. That way everyone's guaranteed at least one good pitcher and everyone's forced to devote at least $4 million to that pitcher.

In our current league, I'm stuck with the bad Alan Trammell card as my stud. While that hurts my offense, at least I have the benefit of Trammell's great defense at shortstop so the card is not a complete waste. Bigdinkent reaps the same benefit from Sandberg with the "1" fielding at 2B even though Ryno's swinging a limp bat.

If you're stuck with a bad stud pitcher card, there's nowhere else he can help you. You're just screwed. So I feel that allowing a little wiggle room is compassionate here -- and will help make each team more competitive.

How about: you can only trade a stud for another stud and you can only drop a stud for another stud. That way only 12 studs will be in use at any one time and each team will have one and only one stud.

If you guys want to go another way with this, I'm still in. I just want to put my thoughts in the mix.

What if you can dump a stud, but must pick up the highest priced guy available? In other words, if I dump Soto at the 95% mark, my total is $7.38M. I must pick up a guy that is closest to $7.38, whether or not he has already been used. This will prevent the constant dumping of the stud pitcher b/c each time you'd take a salary hit, but wouldn't necessarily get someone you want.

How about a limit of 1 stud "trade in" per owner? There's a little more of a gamble to it. Maybe you end up with someone even worse. Kinda like the Yankees pitching rotation this year.

I think the one stud's bad year is probably still better than most of the under $4M SP so you are not loosing much if that happens. There should be no guarantee that you have your stud's best year anyway. That is the fun of the mystery card in the 80's game.

Please don't run the lotto numbers until a final decision has been made concerning the stud player.

NO TRADE IN.

You are forced to keep or trade you Stud. You may never drop a stud, even if you aquire a second one in a trade.

Do it the same way we work for the hitters.
