Or maybe we can post lineup per game, rather than the whole three games?

Things I'd like to see

Per game lineups

Stadium draft option - I hate 2 or 3 Petcos, Coors, MM, US Cells, etc.

Record "Holds" as an official stat

Depth chart/injury replacement

Show number of HR's allowed by free agent pitchers during real life on list
(e.g. sort by HR's allowed)

My wish list

1. Stadium draft option - In this case we might have a stadium draft 2-3 days before the players draft. Playing a league with 6 Petcos and 3 Shea (as it happened to me!) is pretty unrealistic. This is still the most unrealistic aspect of the whole game.

2. Option to play with the Limited Usage rule, rather than injury rule. This implies much more strategy, rather than luck, in the game. (however, I understand that this would be a quite big change to the game. But, I would be glad if at least we would keep it on the radar screen...)

This might not be the right forum to post this so bear with me. This example I'm going to point out bothers me as much as anything that HAL does. Here's the game:

http://fantasygames.sportingnews.com/baseball/stratomatic/2006/league/boxscore.html?group_id=3283&g_id=518

OK, the problem I have, and yes I know we've discussed this many times. I had Konerko (1B) and Kotsay (CF) go down with an injury in the previous game. HAL handled the substitutions as follows:

1B - Put Gibbons there
CF - Put Michaels there
LF - Put J. Hernandez there
RF - Put Ellison there

That's [b:9cc145859e]ridiculous[/b:9cc145859e]!! This is what should have happened:

1B - J. Hernandez goes here, no brainer
CF - Ellison here. '2' range, also no brainer
LF - Leave Michaels here, don't even have to move him
RF - Leave Gibbons here, also don't have to move him

The defense the way HAL did it is absolutely is crazy.

can HAL be drug tested?...

Postby bomp helium » Sat Sep 23, 2006 2:58 am

I agree, jeep...HAL seems to be getting worse...

my DH and catcher (I-Rod) are injured...

HAL puts the backup catcher at DH and POKEY REESE at c......of course I'm up by one when in the bottom of the ninth a double steal sets up a two-run single and that's it, game over...

HAL got it right in the second game: Borders to catcher. secondbaseman Lugo to DH and Reese to 2B...but what happened in the first game?...Pokey Reese at catcher?...

doesn't make any sense...

Tersignf:

here are the two boxscores: 1) Borders at DH, POKEY REESE at c; 2) Borders at c, Lugo at DH, Pokey at 2B.

in reading closer, it wasn't a double steal, in the ninth, just a single steal...but still, I don't think Pokey would be the best choice at catcher...

1) http://fantasygames.sportingnews.com/baseball/stratomatic/2005/league/boxscore.html?group_id=12743&g_id=327

2) http://fantasygames.sportingnews.com/baseball/stratomatic/2005/league/boxscore.html?group_id=12743&g_id=333

one interesting thing I can think of is that Pokey IS an excellent fielder (2B-1; ss-2)...so maybe HAL thinks he's a 2 or 3 at catcher, as well as a 2 or 3 in RF (where he also has played)...but he's not eligible to play catcher and Borders is...I don't get it...

admittedly, this game was in the midst of the worst injury spree I've ever encountered (five guys down for 6 games or more...hence kevin Brown at 1B)...but, still, I don't get the logic...

[b:23330090e0]Isn't the Penn Site going down end of November? So why waste any time with Reverse Lineups etc when the single most important thing is building a live draft option into Strato? This should not only be the primary focus, it should be the only focus. The Strato game will be a lot less fun if live drafts are not supported. Especially in the Tour. We have survived all this time without reverse lineups, but I think it will be a lot more miserable if we no longer have a way to live draft.[/b:23330090e0]

That said, I think the second biggest issue is bullpen management. In real baseball, Mike Myers never faces a RHB. In Strato, even if you check avoid righty quick hook, he still faces a bunch of righties.

I concur with cristano. "Live" drafts take long enough with Penn's site with proxies etc. I can't imagine a live draft conducted on the boards.

It's taken 2 days just to draft 2 stadiums each in a theme league I'm in!
