Not sure at this point if I will do the November theme. I am not really thrilled with others picking some of my players nor do I like picking players for others. To me those kind of leagues are not fun. I did a 1969 combo league where your park was picked by someone else and it didn't have to even be 1 of the 2 parks from the 2 teams you drafted. It seems just about everyone has a certain type of team they enjoy playing more than others. Wether it is a team built for power, speed, or pitching. I do currently have 1 ATG III credit left that I will bank until I decide in just over a month to do the November theme or not.

Anyone not interested in doing the October theme needs to let us know so replacement(s) can hopefully be found.

I will post the October them in a few days. I could post it now, but with tomorrow being 9/11 have decided to wait.

Oh hang in there man. Wehave to sit through the others, so why not "tough" that one out. I played the first therem in 69 hating the 69 year. I have never played the theme that Sykes is talking about, so I am guessing I will do poorly.

We had no guarantees coming in what hte themes would look like.

Just wait for the player lists to be revealed.

I'd hate to turn anybody off by a particular theme. My intention is to force players to be used in ATG3 who will almost never see the light of day, but also assign each team very expensive players as well who might not be used in 80m leagues.

All in all, I think there is planty of wiggle room to customize your team, especially with the large player pool.

Andrew, I hope you change your mind about the November theme. Yes, we all know that Sykes is a Syk-O and evil, but if we all stick together, with our collective goodness (the other 11 owners), we can overtake Syko's sinister plan to take over November!!!

October theme

2005 platform (which is the 2004 cards), The Honest Hombres
League (unless any one has a suggestion for a name that people won't
be offened by.) The league would be $80 mil cap, autodraft, advance,
waivers, and DH, I would be the 12th team in. No asterisk base stealers
allowed, all hitters must have don't steal checked, all manager strategies
must have steal set to extra conservitive. Figured I'd make it a kind of
simple one after some of the complicated ones we had.

Other idea would be I get to totally recreate my '05 team that won 104 games in regular season and got bounced in semis. Here is that teams link: http://fantasygames.sportingnews.com/baseball/stratomatic/2005/team/team_other.html?user_id=49241

Sorry for the (probably silly) question, but what are double-asterisk base stealers? Is it different than the AAA, AA, A, etc. ratings?

From what I remember Strat hasn't used the AAA, AA, etc stealing ratings in years. Each player has their own stealing rating like Endy Chavez is listed as stealing (A) followed by *2-5,11,12/- (19-13). The first number is used for stealing second in runner gets the lead. The second number is if runner doesn't get the lead and for stealing 3rd and/or home. An asterisk stealer not being held automatically gets the lead for stealing second. So in this case Chavez can not be used but Jason Giambi stealing-(E) 4,6/- (3-1) would be eligbile.

I will need to buy a 2004 team (or get one of my credits transsferred for this theme).

In the meantime, can you provide a listing of the players that are BARRED? That might be easier for those of us that are not familiar with the stealing ratings or that may not read the cards so closely.

Thanks!
