Sim Data

Postby joethejet » Wed Sep 13, 2006 12:36 pm

Here is some interesting info from the 9 Sims that WM just ran. I think he used your current rosters so if you made a bunch of changes....

As expected we did the worst job of managing our talent. Guess we should have just figured out what settings Hal uses and let 'er go. 8)

Looks like Shrink did the best job of out managing Hal. +13!

Interesting to see how balanced the Central was in the sims.

This post is a thank you to you guys for putting up with my whining for the past couple of weeks. Hopefully it was at least a little entertaining. That was my goal. Gotta do something make it fun when you're stinking this bad!!!

Joe - What would be really interesting is how the predicted wins from our rating system compare to the sims and the standings.

I'll see what I can do. The problem is that I'm not going to take the time to do ratings for everyone in each park and I don't know how much guys have changes their teams. So, I'm not sure it'll be fair.

I don't think I've made one change to my team yet - and it is a little late now ...

Anyone figure out how Jeep is winning so many games with Heath Bell pitching over 105 innings? :? :? :o

No offense intended, but Heath isn't exactly Mariano Rivera! ;)

I added the JTJ/WM ratings above. WM didn't put lineups in for the East or the West so that may be why you're seeing anomalies (or not)

I can show you another championship team of mine with Heath Bell. I could also point out that Sandy who has the 2nd best record in this league has Mike Burns, less than a Mil, with 95 innings,,and then there's numerous other examples I could show you of teams with a similar pitcher with 100 innings whom won championships. To me it sounded like a cheap shot saying "how does Jeep have that many wins". How could Jeep's team be "that" good. Sounds like sour grapes to me.

Sorry Jeep, definitely not sour grapes, I was just very surprised at how many IP he had pitched. You're right, there were several others I noticed too. Didn't mean to pick on you.

You gotta admit however, the guy hasn't exactly been sterling. He's got a 4.78 ERA with a 1.74 whip and somehow he's 7-2!

No, what I meant was, how good would Jeep's rating be if he wasn't getting a boat load of IP from Bell! To me, you're good enough to win *despite* getting that many IP from a $1.05 pitcher!

I meant it the exact opposite of how you took it!

I guess I could have said just as easy, how is Silver winning so many games with Astacio pitching 117 IP with 5.45 ERA and a 1.44 whip! :? In fact, I said as much to Wineman on the phone the other day.

You guys are winning despite wearing those guys out.

My sincere apologies if I offended you. I certainly didn't mean to!
