To all that are on gstains bandwagon here.....would you have done what he did?

I think the answer is a resounding [b:60064008ae]NO[/b:60064008ae]!

I can understand the mistake made by cminton. I am not even condoning that he should not have been reprimanded and/or penalized. There were 2 very distinct act done here. One by accident and one on purpose.

I don't have an issue with gstains being upset. I have a major issue with the way he handled his little temper tantrum.

I along with errormagnete will never be in another league with this guy. Neither should any of you!

Since it was caught at the halfway point, seems like the best solution in retrospect would have been to drop Lopez and to let everyone [i:c96f6c3a01]else[/i:c96f6c3a01] in the league claim one NL player in the second half

But, that's not the important thing; the important thing is that the commish's decision, whether you feel it's right or wrong, should be respected and followed. That's what you and everyone else agreed to do: to abide by what the commish rules. If you think the decision was so wrong that you just can't stand to be in the tour anymore, then gracefully leave after completing the season. Don't try to enforce your own idea of what's just on the other 11 owners; that's obnoxious, and no one agreed to give you that power.

agreed woody terrible and unforgivable reaction taken by gstanis
but the punishment was so lenient it ruined the league a harsher punishment could of saved the league
how is this for a creative fix
since crim had an illegal 3.85 for half the year let him keep lopez and everyone else starting with the worst team picks up a nler under 7.70
not saying that this is the ideal fix but there are ways to fix these kinds of problems that are more equitable
maybe you shouldnt of brought the commish in and hammered it out with a vote that doesnt include crim and everyone has to agree with the majority vote

I thought about going and picking up his players that he dropped, but after looking at them, I'll pass.

I think his performance has more to do with his team, than cmint's use of Lopez.

Lets just move on. I mean, after he dropped Lopez, I still got swept in my series vs. him

My opinion was and is that the integrity of the event should be followed not only in this league but in all other Ev5 leagues.

It wouldn't be fair to the other leagues to have this one league having ineligible players.

Teepack's ruling offered IMO the best, least hassle solution. 81 games had been played but 81 games remained to make things change.

To ask one player to pay 300 dollars for an oversight that we all bear some responsibility is preposterous.

Sadly this situation was not given enough time to right itself. On Monday F. lopez was dropped, by Wednesday one team had imploded into an all .50 nl scrub team. Actions have been impulsive and reckless.

I am of the opinion that we are looking at an error -human and not uncommon- on the one hand vs. a deliberate action taken to ruin a league.

The bottom line as I see it is that F. Lopez for 81 games did not cheat me out of my 25 bucks... but the imploded team does make me feel like getting a refund.

I for one think Teepack did right and we should abide by the ruling.

The best we can all do is learn from this experience, learn some patience and move on. I don't know about you guys but I play this to have fun. Winning is fun but the fun is the central element.

Hey guys, let me explain the rationale behind my decision:

Replaying the league is not feasible. That means everybody would have to pony up another $25, and I guarantee you that at least one of the managers would have said they couldn't do it, plus it would have potentiall wrecked the Tour standings by causing a Round 5 league to start so late. So that option was not viable.

Second, he replaced Lopez with a .50 player. I think that is a pretty harsh penalty myself.

Third, all 12 managers in the league bear some responsibility, as this pick-up occured during the live draft. Yes, cminton made the error, but it's not like he did it on purpose, and everybody had a chance to point it out. It was an honest mistake that happens frequently. In fact, in my NL only league, a manager noticed 60 games into it that he had an AL reliever on his roster. He sent a message to the entire league about it. I advised him to drop the player and move on. Nobody raised a stink.

Now if he had had Albert Pujols on his roster all this time, I would have ruled a little differently.

As to what gstanis did, he will be banned from the Tour for those actions unless he goes back and picks up as many of the players as he possibly can to field a competitive team. Since it seems like his roster value was pretty low to begin with, he might be able to get enough players back up.

It's one thing to make an honest mistake. It is another thing altogether to intentionally sabotage a league. The former will be forgiven. The latter will not.

I am offering to buck up the $300 to restart the league using the roster at the 81 game mark.

I do not buy for one second that a guy that plays this game as much as he does can overlook your roster that easily. To just drop him and get zero points is useless unless that zero is added as one of his best 5 placings. Otherwise he could just throw this round out. Honest mistake my ass.

81 games, It didn't take him 81 games to read his messages and during the live draft guys did and were sending out reminders about players being NL players. So there is no excuse. We joined a league that had stipulations on it. If you join that league you should know those stipulations and be ready. You had a week to check your team after the draft.

This appears to be the good old boys click.

Because I have friends in this league I will re pick up my players. If you are going to offer AL/NL only leagues purhaps people should read the rules and not just say, "Shucks, it was an honest mistake yuk, yuk".
Outside of playing 400 leagues I'm starting to question how you got your 2200 points.

gstanis, you're not helping your case any by personally attacking another manager's playing skill or implying that this is the Good Old Boy network. I have never met any of the players on the Tour and make every decision impartially, without regard to who the manager is.

Restarting the league is not an option, regardless of who pays for it, unless you can guarantee me that every game - except for the ones involving cminton - comes out the exact same. It is hardly fair to the other teams who are in first place and who have done nothing wrong to make them start over.

Secondly, the much larger issue is that you pitched a fit and intentionally screwed an entire league. That behavior is unacceptable under any circumstance. You should count yourself lucky that I'm giving you an opportunity to correct this egregious act and continue in the Tour.

Thirdly, an apology from you to your fellow league members would certainly be in order and would go a long ways towards reestablishing you as a member in good standing.

I think the commish made 2 mistakes here...

1. Not over-seeing EVERY team BEFORE the season started

and

2. The punishment for cminton was not harsh enough.

I would not have handled it the way gstains did. But I would have been pissed.

Honest mistake or not, it is still a mistake by cminton.
