Our Mystery Card games - The '70s Game, Back to the '80s, Back to the '90s

I was about to say something about who i have, and I realized I have no idea who I have. I know I've been distracted this week, things going on in my life, but I guess I haven't been paying much attention to what I am doing this draft. I know I have Simmons, Petry, and Reuschel, but that is about all I remember. I hope the guys I have all play different positions. :?

I wasn't sure what you were doing when you picked Steve Balboni #1... :P

Hey, the guy has some power, nothing wrong with that pick, better than picking some whimpy 2b or something like that!

I usually go cheap with 2B. I was actually planning on taking Tettelton to start round 5, but when my turn came up and Whitaker was still there...

Nevertheless, in my opinion Singleton was the best guy available at the time, but I already had my corner OFs covered. I think I took Gormon earlier than he deserved, but I hate being without a good CF.

Crossingroads is up...

Me and Kenny Singleton don't get along. I always think he should perform for me but then he proceeds to hit .235 with 12 HRs or something. Eddie Murray is in that same category for me. Guess I don't get along with those Orioles...

I usually go cheap at 2B too, but I figured I'd try something different this draft. I looked over my draft card last night, pretty predictable stuff for me other than Ryno.

I don't know if I've ever had three 6 million plus pitchers before...

I'm worried my offense is going to be weak though.

I have 3 6 + million pitcher s as well and I know I have never done this strategy. I am only using 2-3 guys I use a lot Kirby, Cal and Jose Oquendo, I have never used Hargrove, Sutton, Key or Guidry.

I'm going to wait a bit on Crossing. I hope no one will protest, but this would be his 2nd skipped pick, and if a bunch of proxies fire, he could be really in a hole. My feeling is that we've moved pretty good so far, and that it is worth it to wait a bit here. But I will go with the general feeling.

I have no problem waiting a bit. You never know when something personal comes up or internet access goes down...

Turtle,

I have Guidry for the first time in a public league. Got his '78 Cy Young year and he's 14-3 with a 1.83 era, 0.93 WHIP 93 games into the season. He's also average 8 2/3 innings per game 8). Now that I've bragged about it I'm sure he'll lose 10 in a row or something.
