I don't mind changing rules I would go with either (b)-i or (b)-iii (I think ii is almost the same as is and wouldn't be good).

(b) Change Round III order this season to something like

i - 1-12 (ok)
ii - 11-1,2 (making #2 last overall) (no, same problem as now)
iii - completely random (ok)

Also not sure (c) would be any good because I probably wouldn't have that many FA's.

Its a tough call on the third round, I think I'd vote for random if pressed.

I do think that having the 1st pick and the FA pool is a big advantage. The FA pool is a far more powerful resourse than any team picks made in the third round in my opinion. I'm not sure how to even it out though.

Maybe the the 12th team in round 3 could get a limited use of the FA pool, like 3 players on roster at a time from the player pool. as I can't imagine, other than backups, using more than 3 starters from any of the 3rd round teams that are drafted.

so I would vote for a random round 3 with the last team getting to have up to 3 players from other people's teams from the FA list at any time on his roster.
