Labor Ratings trash talk section

Postby Play By The Rules » Sat Sep 16, 2006 10:07 am

Here guys, we can squirmish here, and avoid doing it through league e-mail.

I had a decent draft, if I get some middle IF I'm going to be hard to beat even with all the stud managers in this league!

I'd be willing to bet that's not what JTJ's ratings say...

Here's a snapshot of the divisions and ballparks

Format is (Single L-R, HR L-R)

East Division...
Polo34 (1-1, 19-19)
Forbes27 (13-13, 5-1)
Candlestick (1-3, 1-1)
Dunns (16-6, 10-1)

Central Division...
Fenway67 (20-18, 17-20)
OakColiseum90 (6-6, 5-5)
Forbes09 (11-12, 1-1)
LeaguePark37 (15-11, 16-2)

West Division...
Griffith24 (9-7, 0-0)
Griffith24 (9-7, 0-0)
Griffith24 (9-7, 0-0)
Royals80 (17-20, 3-3)

- 2 HR parks... Fenway in Central, Polo34 in East
- 2 lefty-parks... League Park in Central, Dunns in East

The rest are pitching ballparks, including the West where the road trips will stop 75% of the time in Griffith, with an occassional "slugfest" enabled by the extra single effects when visiting Royals Stadium.

The average ballpark effects by division...

East (8-6, 9-6)
Central (13-12, 10-7)
West (11-10, 1-1)

As to JTJ (Ratings) vs. Petro (Non-Ratings)...

In the East, where there will plenty of focus on the matchups between JTJ and Petro... JTJ has a traditional Forbes27, while Petro has gone with a little zip in selecting Polo34. The division is rounded out with a breezy Candlestick and a twist with Dunns.

Don't forget guys, PBTR [b:324a5f0bbe]really[/b:324a5f0bbe] doesn't like league mail.

I'm looking to deal J. Foxx (not Jaime) if anyone wants a little overpriced power.

Also have...

Orval Overall
Dennis Lamp
Dots Miller
Carmelo Martinez

...on the off chance that one of you actually wants one of them.

I have no objection to league mail per say - just prefer sending my posts to chat threads as it is easier to sort through later on (just quickly scroll through a few pages rather than having to check each e-mail individually). :)

I have the following available for trade...

- Quis
- Red Ames

- Joe Gordon (I guess only Petro/Polo or RunningMan/Fenway would even come close to interest him, given the ballparks, but like any good boat, "he's always for sale")

- Hargrove and Roseboro are also "on the fence" with my team

If anyone has some quality lefty sticks with good value in the OF or at 2B, let me know, because that's what I'm searching for!

Actually, the thing I really dislike about league mail is that TSN hasn't bothered to put in "next message" and "previous message" navigation. Having to go back to the main mailbox for every new message is a bit lame...

Well, I have the top three SP values in my park, that's a pretty good start...

Fortunately they probably aren't in the top 20 values in my park. But you'll certainly be tough to score on at home.

Of course you still have to score runs. I'm not seeing a whole lot of offense. And Clemens is better than McLain. Of course you wouldn't know because he wasn't rated.

Petro,

Hey! You have Rocket's rating now. Don't be talking like that.

We had a pretty good draft overall. I tried to pick guys who I didn't think anyone would want, figuring that you all would want hitter parks. Much to my surprise you all took pitchers parks! (Petro excluded) I tried for some balance however. Ott and Alou have a little pop as does Hall and Dickey.

Really the only important guys we missed on went to PBTR. :( Figures given he had the ratings. :o Terry and Steinfeldt. I'm finding them hard to replace. :(

Shantz went to Big who, doesn't have ATG ratings, but does have 2005 ratings. :o

Doubt I'm going to be able to trade for the guys I'd like and someone handed me tickets for the Niner game tomorrow so I'm going to miss the FA frenzy. :( Hopefully by the time I get home there'll be *something* left.

I *will* be posting a reply on the other thread once I get my team figured out, so don't forget to check in on my reply to Petro's comments! 8)
