after giving this some thought, i'm with you on trading draft picks in the mini---

i'm thinking they need to be one for one i.e.

playser x for player y and we swap draft position w for position z.

unbalanced rosters at this time should not be allowed.

as i see it the only time the rules allow for deviances from the 40 man roster requirement is during the spring draft...

the september draft intent was to drop a player pick up a player not to create unbalanced rosters: or allow for extra free agent moves.

from the rules:

October or November- 3 round optional FA draft, based on the standing from the first league. Any drops must be declared before the draft, and any player dropped goes into the FA pool. You can use 1, 2, 3, or none of your picks in this draft. After this draft is complete, no FA moves of any kind until the preseason draft for season 2.

pretty clear to me the intent is to drop then pick up one for one.

FM... and that is what happened.. in following the ruels.. it meant that DT now has a 39 player roster.. as he did comply with the rule and dropped player for player in mini draft... and that is why smackk had to drop a player to go from 41 man roster to 40...

but all this can be straightened away during winter meetings discussions...
