Iron Glove League

Yikes!

So much for yesterdays euphoria  Frank came into my place and put a nice spanking on my ass. Not only that we left our Iron gloves out in the rain and they're all rusty now.

I've been bouncing around more than Pam Anderson's...,,uh you get the idea.

I sweep, get swept, then sweep again. My team can't make its mind up. :?

Yay! A sweep at home puts us over .500 at home & overall. :)

I've been on both sides of a lot of sweeps lately, the lasest of which propelled me into 3rd over a relative unknown Manager who is just learning the ropes. I'm sure better days are ahead for him.

Now, to the immediate present, AT brings his Optometrists into Citizen's Bank tonight where another sweep by yours truly could tighten up the Division drastically. It will be a most difficult task, however, as AT's squad has been playing much better since that LASIK eye surgery they had recently. So my work is cut-out for me to be sure. 8)

Well you do get to avoid my best SP (B. Arroyo  ) so it should be a pretty tough series for me to win.

Well AT, you took out Hafner in Game 2, but Carpenter (no relation btw  ) handcuffed me in the rubber game of the series, shutting me out on just 1 hit in the process.

I don't believe this Iron Glove squad of mine will finish at 500. :(

I've resigned myself to the fact this gloveless squad of mine is not going to improve. I've made all the changes I can...I'm going to try one more good tongue lashing and if that doesn't cut it we're dead. Boo hiss. 0ut of 12 current teams, this is my team with the worst record. :x

I think I am having fun. But I say that very quietly not to wake up HAL and have him make my team start losing.

My team is dropping like a lead balloon!! I was hanging around the .500 mark for a lot of the season hoping to make a move at some time! Well, they made a move!! Straight down the standings! I guess since my team's namesake has Gary Sheffield's name in it, it was doomed from the start!
This league is the story of my pathetic 2006 career!!

One of the most interesting things in this league to me is Terry's team. He has an 60-48 record in[b:beccf06d3d] Shea[/b:beccf06d3d] despite having only [b:beccf06d3d]one[/b:beccf06d3d] full-time lefty hitter.

Can you say Santana and Clemens?!
