just out of curiosity, did you list only 40 players or did you expect not to get all your players and make the list 50 or 60 deep?

I am interested in your open spot, I would have to read the rules, and know when you are starting. If someone would let me know what is exactly going on you can consider yourself filled.

read on jerry

we will be bidding on our players blindly with 2 co-comissioners determining who the bids go out to.
you have a nominal amout of money you can use to pick your players andthe highest bid wins the certain player.....a minimun of 80% can be bid on any player(but that likely won,t win many prizes)so just read on thru the rules,it won,t take but a couple of minutes, and join on up..........

Welcome Ugly

Welcome Jerry, and yes have a quick read (there aren't too many pages and only a few sidetracks) and just ask any questions.

A quick summary.

You have a $128M budget to pick 40 (and only 40, crossingroads) players and bid what you think the player is worth. You can't bid any lower than 80% of a players TSN salary. Once you have selected your team you will send your picks in secret to myself and Gmac94 (we have already exchanged bid lists and can't change them). We'll figure out which players everyone has won and notify everyone. Obviously you will not win all your bids, and so there will be a second round (and third if necessary) of bids on unselected players so that you can spend the rest of your dough and fill out your roster. The tricky part is that once your team is final, these 40 players will be the ONLY players you get to use all year (unless you make trades, which I expect there will be quite a few of). You will have to manage poor performance by calling on some of your bench or making a trade. When all the auctioning is done, we'll start a $200M salary cap league and fill out our draft list with 25 of the players we won at auction. Your other players are still yours exclusively, and only you can bring them up and down from the minors (from free agency on the list but in our game only you will be able to pick up your players and you won't be able to pick up anybody else).

That's the highlights. Have a read and let me know if you've got any questions. We're looking to have everybodies list by Thurs 29/9. Hopefully we'll have necessary follow up rounds done by the following week in time to get the league started by Oct 10th.

Could you please repost e-mail addresses where we are to send our bids, or should we just PM them?

Sean, - I haven't checked in here for awhile, good to see you are still playing SOM 0s. Looks like I will be transferring to DC area in about six months or so, if true, would love to face to face a three game set with you sometime!

Jimbo,

great to hear from you!! I've been back for a little while now; only have two or three teams at any given time, but I'm back!

My brother lives in Alexandria VA. I was just in DC last week -- made it up to Camden Yards to see my Red Sox dismantle the Orioles. That great stadium and great baseball town deserves so much more than Mr Angelos gives them ...

I'd love to sit face to face and take three straight from you!

Best wishes, hope all is well across the pond!! Take care,

sean

Address PM'd

Postby canauscot » Sat Sep 23, 2006 7:29 pm

Ok, I think everyone has been sent by PM the addresses to send your bid lists into. Let me know if you haven't got it.

So send them in or ask if you've got any questions.

The sooner we get them in, the sooner we start.
