The West started off pretty strong - going 8-4 on the first night against the Central.

It might be time for the Tigers to start worrying - with a 5-16 home record ...

I have now been involved in 6 straight series that were sweeps. 9-9 is my record. I wonder what the record is for most consecutive series being swept/sweeping.

Wow!! I don't think I have ever seen this before!

A 6 way tie for 1st place! That means 2 teams with the current best record won't even make the playoffs if the season ended today!

2006 side note

Postby ArtemusRex » Sat Sep 23, 2006 7:49 pm

I know this may not exactly be the place with this, but if I ask this question here, I know what and who I'm getting the opinion from if that makes any sense.

Here is my new 2006 team. Once again I am in the same division as JKolak who is running Minute Maid while I am running RFK which is like Petco but a medium porch for BPHR for lefties (1-9). The other 2 teams are running in Petco and US Cellular so it will be an interesting division... We begin play Monday.

Lineup:
# Name (Bats) Pos Def BA OBP SLG Bal
1. Crawford, C. (L) LF 1(0)e2 .301 .331 .469 4R
2. Tejada, M. (R) DH - .304 .349 .515 2R
3. Gibbons, J. (L) RF 3(-2)e5 .277 .317 .516 1R
4. Lee, D. (R) 1B 1e6 .335 .418 .662 E
5. Chavez, E. (L) 3B 1e16 .269 .329 .466 1R
6. Martinez, V. (S) C 3(+1)e1 .305 .378 .475 3R
7. Taguchi, S. (R) CF 2(-1)e3 .288 .322 .412 1R
8. Kennedy, A. (L) 2B 2e6 .300 .354 .370 1R
9. Everett, A. (R) SS 1e16 .248 .290 .364 3R

Only thing to add is I know some would question having Sanchez as a benchman but to take advantage of Adam Kennedy's defense and bat with his penchant for injury, I needed a strong backup at 2b plus he doubles as backup for ss and 3b as well.

What do you think.

Now back to 2001:

With my mediocre record away from the Brewery (Miller park), I am happy to steal away one victory from team Kismit. We'll get it back next series.

Here is a link to my RFK team which lost a Tour Finals in 6:

Meanwhile the usual suspects with a sweep now have sole possession of 1st overall - but there are 4 teams tied for 2nd, and 3 tied for 1st in the West. 8)
