I can't resist posting this one:

http://fantasygames.sportingnews.com/baseball/stratomatic/2006/league/boxscore.html?group_id=3902&g_id=19

Heilman as "set up" both ways - slow hook - bullpen = CONSERVATIVE.

I don't recall for sure because I changed it, but I believe I had Weathers clOser vs - R, and Mercker closer vs-L: REGULAR (not maximize).

Everyone else set the way they should be: avoid weak side - max 1-2 IPs - "quick hook".

Did it cost me the game? Perhaps. Why did Heilman come out? He couldn't handle Barajas and Vizquel? WTF?

The only solution I can come up with if HAL is really This screwed up now (he was not like this last yeaR IMO) is this:

-all of the above settings, but set CLOSER TO MAXIMIZE.
-bullpen usage to NORMAL?

[b:2a29776070]-PLEASE HELP-[/b:2a29776070]

I am stumped for sure. If this continues, Heilman is a complete waste of cash for me, and I better deal him to the first US Cell team that will take him.

I would have Heilman setup both ways and leave the closer blank, both ways.
If that doesn't help, put Heilman in as closer as well.

You want him to get the bulk of the innings, obviously.

Thanks socal.

I put Mercker as closer vs-L, and Weather as closer vs-R: MAXIMIZE. My thought is that this way, HAL THE RETARD won't try to save Heilman for the 9th.

Last night I got 5 IPs out of Heilman in three games. MY TEAM STILL SUX, but at least Heilman is getting some innings.

Feel free to comment on [b:98b72e848f]my first Petco team ever[/b:98b72e848f]. Please keep in mind all the RH bats were gone in the first round of the draft, hence Mike Sweeney at 1B. I will bench Sweeney at home vs LHPs, with his 8 BPHRs, playing J. Hernandez, at 1B with A. Sanchez at DH.

With all the hitting gone, I thought "okay screw you guys, I'll pick up Clemens". All the pitching in the world is no good of course without scoring 4-5 runs once in awhile.

I would set it up this way...

Heilman-Setup AND close both ways, Slow Hook
Calero-Avoid L, don't come in B 4 the 8th, Quick Hook
Mulholland and Merker are kinda the same guy. You don't need both. Have 1 of them avoid R, don't come in B 4 the 9th, Quick Hook
Vogelsong- Mop Up
Weathers- slow hook, avoid before the 7th.

You spent almost $40 million ($38.9) on your pitching. A bit too much IMHO. The Rocket AND Pedro won't need much bullpen help, especially @ home.

I understand your plight with Sweeney, but that's alot of $ to platoon. Guys like Johnson, Conine and Dan Johnson would be better off @ 1B.

Righties hit lefties better so don't sit Sweeney escpecially vs. LH's.

It dooesn't matter that he's a 1R.
