Labor Ratings trash talk section

I have no copy of the rules but I thought under the advanced running and fielding rules there is a change where a GBA will take the fielders rating into consideration and create errors. mmmmmm..... I wish I had the old link that spoke of that. OK most likely another incorrect piece of information globbing on to a cobweb in my head :D

Don't give me that modesty act Charlie, we all know you are one of the best managers out there.

In ATGII we had virtually the same stats, you and I are remarkably similar. You and I don't play a lot of teams but we both make them count!

West added. Some quick comments without spending any time analyzing the teams individually.

The East would look to be a two team race, but Agate is a wild card due to their playing in a completely different park.

Central - Ratings say Roadkill turns the rest of the division into such. Cardinals could be the same as Agate, but their pitching is soooo bad.

West - The ratings say that Riggo should win it handily.

Remember that there is usually a team that over performs and one that under performs. So far PBTR and Riggo have under peformed and, probably my team, has over performed. (Shhh, don't tell my guys that! ;)) One thing to note along those lines, we've played 21 at home while Riggo only 12. That *could* be why those two teams have varied from their ratings.

The teams with the best O rats *should* be at the top in runs scored while adding pitching and fielding together should give you the better pitching teams (remember lowest wins there)

Joe, thanks for posting ratings for entire league. I know that takes some time - appreciate it. BTW, look who got the highest overall rating! 8)

Some great stuff on this thread - I've got some reading to do...

Yes, thanks Joe!

The ratings would suggest a predetermination of the 4 playoff teams. So I take little comfort in having the 5th highest overall rating. :(

Not surprising that I have the highest pitch rating and the lowest hit rating. What is surprising is that my pitchers obviously haven't read the report.

Good luck the rest of the way fellas. Except you Riggo. :P

Phew, that trip through the Central was not pleasant...

Hmm, I have the highest rating in my division and am scraping .500. I blame it on the manager. As a matter of fact, he's getting called into my office today for a heart to heart.

I don't want to hear excuses about all the hitters' parks we've been in...

Actually Joe I don't think my team's downfall is lack of power (not really necessary) but moreso my high number of # up and down my pitching staff. Just nobody to turn to in the hitters' parks.

Joe you have played significantly more home games than road games, I think the lead is fixing to shrink in the near future...

I know one thing, I'm posting these "ratings" on the clubhouse bar, right next to the big keg of [i:c21256108b]Oktoberfestbier[/i:c21256108b] (which was obviously NOT figured into the ratings).

This will provide my boys with some great motivation to complement their liquid libations.

You guys are welcome. It makes it all worth it if there is interchange about the numbers. Please keep posting your thoughts on whether they are all wet or not!

MM, what you complaining about? You essentially tied with Big for the 5th best rating! That's nothing to sneeze at.

Big, you know better than to assume that the ratings determine everything. I make a bunch of assumptions about how many LHP, etc and what the lineups are going to be. I haven't analyzed each team to see if there is a team who is very good v, let's say, LHP and they have a ton in their division. That would skew the numbers. Then there is the luck/unluck factor. As you know well, my last NLD team should never have been as bad as it was, but things just didn't work out. It's a dice game.

It shouldn't be too surprising that Riggo, PBTR and I are in the top for ratings since we think similarly and are using the same ratings or a derivation of such. Doesn't mean that the ratings aren't all wet. ;)

Doug, again I haven't totally analyzed your team, but it's nice to have a *little* power in those parks too. Plus, "natural" HRs are out in any park! I also didn't look to see how many W guys you have. And, you're right, I'm sure our road record will be less than our truly anomalous record at present.

Joe,

Thanks for your hard work. I'm sure that takes alot of time and is very informative if you know what the hell all those numbers mean.

My quick and quite complicated system tells me that Ed Bazo has the best team in the league. I came to this result by noticing that he is leading my division. I know mine isn't an exact science, but it is usually pretty accurate. I have noticed in all my leagues that if you can't win your division, it's pretty tough moving into the postseason. :D  My comments are all in fun of course.

Seriously though, someday I will let you rate a team for me, just so I might get a better understanding of what your ratings really mean. You have my team rated better than what I feel like it actually is though. If it weren't for Pete, I probably wouldn't have broke 1000. :D

I will probably start a nice slide to the bottom since I noticed today that I didn't have any player or manager settings in place.

Again, thanks for your work and it will be interesting to see if things play out the way you have it rated.

Ah, but you're forgetting all the teams that have won by beating their division winner using the dreaded "wild card jinx..."

Of course I'm going to have to climb up past Petro if I want to do that. I'm coming for you Joe, believe it!
