I just tried to reset your password but roofinghorse didn't set me up as an administrator. We'll have to wait for roofinghorse to rest your password to test for you.

No clock, please. We're only doing this big draft one time. Let's not pressure anyone or cause someone to miss out.

Thanks, everyone.

CLARIFICATION: As with decade rules, .75's are available every year (I think I have that right). In this league, you can keep two batters and two pitchers who are .75's. DON'T FORGET: the pitcher BATS (which means good ol' Clark (above) is gonna be in RF or at 1B for me.

JSAMIA is UP!

Postby honestiago1 » Sun Oct 01, 2006 9:25 am

LM snagged Winfield (we all figured he'd be up there, right?). Hey, I LIKE the Carter pick up high. It's a great investment. I mean, Schmidt and Brett are great, but Carter is so good on the O and D -- best overall catcher of the decade, a run producer and durable. If he'd been available at #4, I probably woulda taken him.

Hey, when do all the GOOD shortstops come online? Sandberg doesn't come around 'til '84? (sniff, sniff)

I haven't figured out how to do it yet, but for free agency I am toying with the idea of making it to where each manager releases one SIGNIFICANT player from his roster (a non-retiree). Then we use a pick three in some fashion (maybe something simple like, if the first digit is a 1 or zero, you lose the guy).

Any ideas on how to make this work simply and easily?

clock

Postby LMBombers » Sun Oct 01, 2006 9:59 am

I couldn't figure out how to shut the draft clock off so I set the time at 100 HRS. Basically there is no clock.

Everyone please check in reguarly. We have 300 picks to make in this draft (25x12) and everything comes to a grinding halt if you are the next to draft and don't check in on at least a daily basis. Please use proxies where you can. That will help speed up the draft. We are not in a race to finish but I don't think we all want to sit around and wait forever either. I believe this draft could take 2-3 weeks to complete. Even longer if everyone doesn't check in regularly.

If for any reason you decide to drop out of the league PLEASE let us know so that we are not just sitting here wondering when you are going to pick. I hope we don't have anyone drop out but I have seen it before.

Salary Cap

Postby LMBombers » Sun Oct 01, 2006 10:04 am

Remember the salary cap is 80M and there is no DH. You can't always just take the highest salaried player each turn and stay under the cap. Just keep that in mind or you will have a bunch of 75¢ players to fill out your roster.

The draft site won't allow you to pick a player that puts your remaining salary cap below a figure of your empty roster spots x 75¢ but you would hate to be surprised that you are at that point and have to fill in the rest of your roster with minimum salaried players.

One last reminder - After your 25 picks you must have a valid TSN SOM roster to draft. That means 10 pitchers (at least 5 rated to Start) and 15 hitters (at least 2 rated to catch).

in next year's draft, are only the 82 players drafted or is anyone who was dropped also drafted. For example, if I drop Schmidt, which I won't, how do we determine who gets him next year?
