Catalanotto and Kauffman

Postby Al Hogg » Sun Oct 01, 2006 6:34 pm

Sort of early to pick a DH platooner with no BP HRs, I suppose, but he seemed to be the best hitter left for Kauffman Stadium, the park for which I'd been building my team.

And, once you get enough players drafted with that park in mind, you start to get worried: What if some other team takes it? I figured I better just grab it so I could ease my mind.

This feels like a 50 mil league. The talent is so thin and we are only on the 9th round! It will be a great league though.

everyone's drafting a pretty competitive team, and several divergent themes emerging. DONT FORGET 72 MILLION SALARY CAP!!!!!

ALSO, getting to be about craig monroe time. ive sent penngray two messages and turtle has also sent him one. if monroe isn't restored by monday, we'll have to set a surrogate for him, and that owner will have to keep track of his salary, allowing for monroe's 2.8 million.

CRAIG MONROE

Postby MEAT » Sun Oct 01, 2006 9:58 pm

matt watson is officially craig monroe. you will have to keep track of the 2.3 million dollar salary difference to ensure you stay within the 72 million dollar cap. man this excluding players is a pain in the ASS!!!!

I actually wrote ASS (A-SS) but expletive is HAL'S word. im sure he'd have a field day substituting it for my reaction to this flurry of picks in the 9th and 10th rounds. most painful by FAR! sweeney completely screwed up my whole plan, just two picks shy of getting him, blanton right before that, so I settled for haren. knew fasano was going soon, but couldn't take a one sided guy that high with so many other holes to fill. mcafee coliseum, and in my own division by sarge was particularly excrutiating, but I can always count on AL to be on the same disturbing wavelength, and reed johnson was the equivalent of a colonoscopy. posada had been on the list, but hey, when you get two picks at the END of everyround, need about five guys, and then wait 24 more picks to scavenge for what's left, you become just another weasel.

The more we complain the more I realize what a great challenge this is. More fun drafting the all AL league than anything in awhile It's funny to think I actually have 15! more picks. Looks like 3 or 4 good rounds left, then ..... Hey lets do another one. On second thought I have to get a real life soon.

Guiel and Guile

Postby TomSiebert » Mon Oct 02, 2006 11:33 am

With the Brutal Departure of Aaron Guiel, there is now officially no one left in this godforsaken draft that I want.

Guiel, BJohnson, Silva, those were the guys I REALLY wanted last round, and I picked Jorge Posada anyway because catching was getting SO THIN and I was getting way too heavy on my RH bats  .

I sense a horrible season before me.... :x

CRAIG MONROE

Postby MEAT » Mon Oct 02, 2006 11:37 am

just got an email from penngray...craig monroe should be restored shortly. if you really have to have matt watson, and I hope you do, you'll get the real matt watson if you draft him now.
(Turtle, you should have to cough up one of those especially painful picks for all this :? )
