Two franchise league with a twist.
At the end of 2005 season the Marlins determined they had two untouchable players – Miguel Cabrera and Dontrelle Willis. All the rest had to go. In this league every manager must draft two Marlins not named Miguel Cabrera or Dontrelle Willis and keep those players on their roster the entire season (prior to start of season).
Each manager drafts two franchises and two Marlins players (two round serpentine draft determined by lottery numbers high to low - one player + one team per round) – franchises do NOT have to be unique. You will have draft rights to those two teams.
If a team is chosen twice, managers will determine through the draft and waivers which players belong to their team. If a player is dropped during the season, both managers retain access to pick up said player. Your roster must contain only carded players from your two drafted teams, plus two Marlins.
DH, $100 million cap, standard 80% drop penalty. You must play in one of the two stadiums of the teams you drafted. Trading Allowed – if you trade for a player and subsequently drop him, you lose him, and his free agent rights go back to the ORIGINAL franchise
Penalty for not keeping two Marlins on your team or having a player carded to another team will be that you are not allowed to use your highest paid player. And a public shaming.
