Brother Mark

Postby TomSiebert » Wed Oct 04, 2006 4:31 pm

Mark is having a brutal week and barely keeping his head above water. He's offsite and won't be to a computer for hours. He wanted me to pick his player for him, but I don't know how to do it.

Mark wants:
1108 Torrealba,Y c-2(0)e2,T-1(pb-0) 0.72

Does somebody know how to fix that?

when I go in and try to pick keep getting the python error. our only hope would be for everyone to check in here and know not to take torrealba, then when the draft skips makr we can go on. I understand work takes priority, but on those rare occassions when he can get on, he must set proxies to cover the hours of the draft. ive got proxies in for the next several rounds.

Mark Gets Torrealba; I Will EXCLUDE Him from the Player Pool

Postby Al Hogg » Wed Oct 04, 2006 6:12 pm

Then we will skip Mark's pick. That should handle the situation I would think.

If Necessary, Tim Redding = Yorvit Torrealba

Postby Al Hogg » Wed Oct 04, 2006 6:19 pm

I excluded Torrealba from the player pool, but I, too, got the python error when trying to skip Mark's pick...

If we must wait for Mark to return to a computer to get this going again, Mark should pick Tim Redding instead of Torrealba. (I trust nobody wants a pitcher with a 10.56 ERA on his team.)

That should cut my average time down a little. Also, its my understanding that at the end of the 26 rounds our salary can not be over 72 mil. Is that right? Or is it when we start the season? Please clarify. Thanks

I figured it was as of the end of the draft...

Postby calbatross » Wed Oct 04, 2006 7:25 pm

...since that way, we all get a fair crack at the remaining player pool while at the same time everyone's rosters are fairly under $72MM. Commish? COMMISH?! :)

Do we have a commish?

Brilliant Move, Turtle!

Good job on signing in as Mark!

Here's what I wrote on salary cap:

[quote:3044cd9cd0]A reminder for folks as they plan their teams: The league will be set at $80 million, but the limit is $72 million. That is, your remaining salary cap must stay at $8 million or more.
[/quote:3044cd9cd0]

When we've done this in the past, we've always played that you must stay under the specified cap at all times, including at the end of the draft.

That is, you can't, say, go with a $72 million, 24-player squad, sign on another 50-center and then drop him after the draft to stay within the limit. Hope that clarification doesn't cause anyone problems.
