Scot Shields

I have taken Shields several times in '06 and he never lives up to expectations,. I'm a sucker for punishment so I keep taking him, thinking maybe this time he'll live up to his card. Has anybody else had the same problem or is it just me???

he's been lights out for me whenever I can get him. Stop taking him if he doesn't work for you :P ;)

I've had him at least 3 times and he has been great! Always lots of innings in a setup role, good whip and era, and usually good W-L record! I'd keep trying him, I think he is a good value.

I had him a couple of times early, but I haven't been able to get him lately. I'm a fan, especially in US Cell.

I always use him as a setup guy, and he consistently has a high whip used in 3 full season's just started a 4th it's early but...

IP ERA WHIP Stadium
104 5.28 1.50 Shea
152 3.87 1.22 Kauffman *Actually a decent season
135 3.36 1.42 MM
7.2 15.27 3.37 PNC

I shouldn't even count the new season, but it's frustrating, especially when I have much cheaper guys that are performing better.

Oh man, this is one guy that is worth the money......I always go after Shields..He is a hot commodity in most drafts..I have found unless you put him pretty high up you will not get him....I only have him on one team that is currently running and it's at RFK and he has been awesome in a setup role--(Both Ways) for Wickman...Speaking of Wick--Check out his #'s so far...Not to shabby for an under 1 mil closer...

There is nobody in that price range...

Who gets it done as consistently as a setup man as Scott Shields - especially in HR or Even Parks.

His value allows you to spend elsewhere on hitting. BUT, he is no secret. Unless you are playing in a newbie league, it is likely someone will take him 3rd or even 2nd on their draftlist. That's if you absolutely must have him. I took him 3rd in some Vets leagues and didn't get him. i have never missed getting him at #2 tho. And I have done so on more than 1 occasion.

I've had to cut him from about 3 of the 4 teams I've had him on. I find I get the same #'s from Majewski or maybe Timlin in the right park.
