The "I Hate Chris Carpenter Fan Club"...

I won a championship @ Safeco with 7 lefties in my lineup. (5 lefties and 2 switchies)

A manager in my division had Carpenter and I lost to him 4X, 3X @ home.

This current season, I'm in PNC and I've lost 2X to him at home, with 6 lefties/switchies in my lineup.

I've always skipped him over, thinking he wasn't that good vs. lefties. I've gone with cheaper alternatives as a hard RHSP (Lowe, Byrd and Johnson).

Then I thought I would try him out @ Fenway. Perfect park for him right?
He was 1-5 when I dumped him. 54IP's, 74 hits, 6.83 ERA and a 1.74 WHIP.

WTF?

I've had the same experience with Carpenter so have to hate him as well.

I like Tejada just fine...never used at MM, but love him in a pitcher's park where he keeps opposing teams batting near 200.

Please start a few more of these like the Oswalt sucks one....

I mean of a 3.59 era and 1.18 whip in a league made up of almost all hitters parks (Im in US Cell) is bad, well give me bad anyday!!

Dumping Carpenter in Fenway is a bad move no matter how you slice it. He is money in Fenway and I don't understand your surprise at losing to him in LH parks. He's at least a good pitcher anywhere.
Carpenter:25-10 @ McAfee

These are all the times I've used him. Seems like an automatic 20 wins to me.

What's not to understand?

vs. lefties:
18.2 hit chances
23.2 OB chances
32,9 Total Base chances
2 HR chances
3 BPHR chances

These are fairly ugly #'s vs. lefties, IMHO.

Now if he's gonna face 5-7 lefties (L/switchies) he SHOULD be in trouble no?

I'm amazed when I lose to him, in a lefty hitting park, with a lineup that I field.

Viz,

I see your point in SOM but let me be the first to tell you that Cardinal fans love this guy. With a 95-96 mph fastball that rides or cuts to a lhb catching that inside corner and a curve that (when working) gives him an out pitch that nobody seems to be able to hit, he is an immortal in the big STL right now. One more rainout in NY and the Mets will see him in game 1 Friday. Could be bad for NY.
