Strat card-- injury question

A hit and injury IS possible. But the question is whether a CLUTCH hit and injury is possible, or does the injury part of the result change/go away due to the clutch rules. Each time we see the hit plus injury, we would have to look at the card to see where the injury was located. Even that wouldn't be definative becuase injuries occur on rare plays as well. I don't think there is any way to know for sure.

With a bunch of years playing face to face, the clutch overides the injury roll. It would be a single** with no injury.

All a clutch hit does is convert the result to a single**. I believe that the injury is [b:5537f68626]added[/b:5537f68626] to the result. Thus it would be no different than a regular single** to which the injury is then applied after the result of the play.

Hate to disagree, but our face to face league called Strat a number of years ago when clutch was introduced to ask that very question. HR said that the clutch single is the result. It superseded the injury result.

I can tell you definitively that the clutch hit takes effect and so does the injury. I had this happen to me with Hawk Dawson in the btt80s game. The box score read "Single" and he was taken out for a pinch runner as he was injured for a few games. He has a $ symbol next to an injury against lefties (on his 1984 card).

We will still never know if that was the injury on the card, or a rare play injury.
