petco team

Postby DavidRis » Thu Oct 12, 2006 9:25 pm

It's too late to make any changes to this petco team...season already started, but I was wondering if some experts had any thoughts about it.
I could use some advice on the setup of the bullpen and how to bat the order. (is figgins a top of the order guy vs righties for example?)
and of course, if I made any major mistakes that you would change even w/the 20% penalty, or just advice for future teams....please feel free to give that advice as well.
:D

Thanks guys!

For lineups, I'd go:

vs. RH's:
1. Castillo- He's actually got better OB than Figgins
2. Ichiro- low gba's
3. Young
4. Guillen
5. Hernandez (+ clutch)
6. Figgins
7. Wells
8. Kennedy
9. Gomez

vs. LH's:

1. Castillo
2. Ichiro (lowest gba's I think)
3. Young
4. Wells
5. Molina
6. Gomez
7. Guillen
8. Kennedy
9. Figgins

Well, the team is heavily leaning to hit lhp better, but your division doesn't seem to be loaded of lefty pitching.

Other than that, I like the way you spent your money around, in terms of rosters. I tried the Hernandez/Molina, and was not satisfied with it. Perhaps not the bet platoon to have in Petco. T.Jones is more a Coors closer than a Petco reliever. But these are small details. Overall, I think you found the right balance between spending for SP, RP, and offense. Just too lh-oriented. The key for you is to face lhp. Your 5-7 record reflects more the fact that you faced about 10% of lhp so far.
