YIKES!!!! Shifting Sands Draft Thread

I would suggest one of the following solutions:

1. Add anyone named Buck or O'Neil and those blacks who played prior to 1954 to the list of "Negro leaguers" from which everyone needs one(if this makes the total exceed 24 then allow 2 per team).

2. Eliminate the one negro leaguer per team component completely and leave only the 36 point rule.

I would prefer not to alter someone elses theme to accomodate mine.

Of course if you use any of these guys at dh they don't impact your infield nor your outfield decade, likewise if you pick one of the cheaper guys for the bench they don't impact the decade either.

plEASE confirm foggy, we sticking to if you've got mays, aaron, doby, banks, the rest of your starting infield or outfield must conform to that decade, per unc's rule. it helps that we don't each have to have a negro leaguer which frees pope and al smith and harmon and minoso to help fill out outfields, but the 50's, where most negro leaguers of impact come from, is pretty thin.

how about making Jews and negroleague HOFers free from Decade requirement?

I thionk that works and does not prejudice any made picks.

can I assume unc is cool with that, it really does have an inordiante impact on this first round pick, now that the obvious negro leaguers and jewish players( that you'd draft no matter what the restrictions) have vanished.

IMO, taking all themes in to account, I too think the best thing to do is to make the Negro League player (& Jewish player?) exempt from the decade rule, just as they are exempt from the Godfather rule.

negroleague players and jewish players cannot be subject to godfather trades and have NO decade designation.
