YIKES!!!! Shifting Sands Draft Thread

OK. I'm back in town and looks like I missed a lot. It's gonna take a while to make sure I understand all this stuff, but fortunately all that won't effect my next pick.

I did notice one thing however. MunichMan has picked Gehrig and Banks. [u:87c57827f2]One of these guys has to be dropped[/u:87c57827f2] unless one of them will be the DH or else it violates the rule that the IFs have to be from the same decade, OFs from the same decade, etc.

One of the changes you missed, MJ, was that Negro League players are exempt from the decade restriction. So, the decade the Banks card is from does NOT count towards MM's IF decade. Welcome back, btw. :)

[b:3c6fe105bc]memphisjohn[/b:3c6fe105bc] or [b:3c6fe105bc]doctortax1[/b:3c6fe105bc] can pick now (since one of you is AL and one of you is NL).

gents, sorry, and especially with all due respect to you bbw, and ofcourse the beloved buck oneil himself....but I'd really like to call to a vote softening the repressive and overbearing negro league rule. it's already determined our team names, each of us will have a negro leaguer...but having to accumulate THAT many points to match the name buck oneil plus j/d/r eliminates WAY too many potential players when ive also got to stay within a given decade, avoid having too many 1 defenders, pick a jewish player, two lh starters, a .50 pitcher, alternate al/nl, fit my ballpark, bat a-z and z-a. my opinion is it has an indordinate bearing on roster making and needs to be relaxed. no M's, S's, T's, that qualify is just too restrictive. I propose we either make it ALOT easier to acrue points, or significantly lower the point requirement.

I will be out of pocket from Thursday evening until Sunday evening. I will start building my team and will leave proxies either on Penn's sight if we get there, or someone here if we do not. Not sure how far we will be by then, But I will not hold up the draft. If by some chance it gets "foggy" (what a punny guy I am), then I will allow someone to fill my draft then.

Will see how this proceeds until then.

I think HM has a point. It may not become as apparent until later in the draft, but I believe people will find themselves "painted in a corner" at some point. I don't want to totally void MBBW's theme, however. Maybe relax it to 20-25 BO points? Any other input?
