Just call it stubborness Niners. I came close with a Coors team last time out & want to see if I do any better this time. In a $100M league I like hitter parks since you can stock up on RPs....like I have done....
If it's just me that thinks we should wait for Day then, we can move on. I don't want to dictate what happens. I just know that Day has been around this league for awhile and he hasn't been a habitual abuser of the clock. To me that means something is going on in his life and he's probably going out of his way to get even these picks in.
I guess I just don't think it's right to slam a team because of a tough schedule. If this was SOP for him then it would be different. That isn't the case however.
Just my two cents.
On a lighter note, we've chosen our manager. She's a lawyer these days and we figure that might come in handy.
The point is moot anyway since we've caught-up and moving. :)
As mentioned I see your point. I have the same viewpoint in every draft, but past experience does account for something here. I agree it's a lot different than if this was a first-time leage. But, on the other hand, it sets a president, and we can't skip anyone going forward. Again, that's almost moot too since we're almost thru.
I don't agree that we can't skip anyone else. Seems that Day is in an unusual situation. He's clearly swamped with something outside of SOM and doesn't even have time to post. OTOH, Smokee has been around the whole time and his time has currently expired.
Personally I'd say that JG can go ahead and pick. Smokee didn't indicate that he was otherwise detained did he?
I'm sure Day appreciates the gesture, but we don't need to wait for everyone. If there is/was a problem for someone, just post here as Day has done and we'll be flexible. But otherwise, once round one is complete, I feel we all know the rules and know how long the clock runs, so pick if the person in front has had their time expire.
