I would say that as Commissioner, I would permit a team like Pittsburgh to select in the draft an additional pitcher. To be fair, it would have to be a non-Oriole pitcher, so that everyone has a fair chance if they want to pick up an Oriole pitcher, to do so in the waivers period.

I'm wondering if any team can meet the standards in place. Are there enough Senators to make a team. 1969 game requires 24 minimum players I believe.

Suggestion - I like the concept of keeping it a team selection rather than draft of players.

I'm in a league currently set up by Moose. This is a very well run ATG2 theme league transferred over to 1069. In this league you have a draft of teams with each manager being allowed to draft 2 teams. They use a $100M cap. With $80M we had agreed that to many stars are left out.

If you chose to go the 1 team route the issue that I've seen cause managers to argue is allowing managers to enroll with their favorite team and no draft in place.

There are many managers who have the same favorite teams and it becomes an issue when teams like the Orioles, Giants, Yankees are all taken first and then other managers are left with the leftovers. With a draft and 2 teams to make up a team the league becomes at least fair.

My idea is to have managers select one team (Baltimore is excluded). All of the teams fit within the cap, except Minnesota, which would have to drop 1MM in salary to meet the cap. Washington had 27 players, so it fit perfectly. Other teams may only have 9 pitchers, and if so, I would permit them to draftan additional pitcher (non-Baltimore and not from any team selected by another manager). Under the waiver period, you could pick up two non-team players from any un-used team, but only one of them could be from Baltimore.

Although some managers may pick the supposed best teams, my hope is that people would pick their favorite team growing up (i.e., like me picking the Senators -- I would not ordinarily ever limit myself to such a bunch of losers). Let's see if there is enough interest in my version.

I got sick during the league Championship series, but couldn't get anyone to believe me. They figured either I'd gone to the games or stayed home to watch them on TV.

I have just discovered that we will have to modify the rules a little. On the Senators, for example, I find that I cannot draft the 15th hitter because he only is 500,000 and I have to draft a player that will put me over the 60MM salary cap minimum. Once we get all 12 managers and I see which teams they have, I will select one player from a non-used team, to put me over the limit. I suggest that each manager who encounters difficulty with his team (not 10 pitchers, or salary cap too low, etc) contact me as commissioner and I will authorize them to pick one player from a non-use team.

Would agree with the notion of grouping the divisions so that the higher salaried teams are together and the lower salaried teams are together.
