bigm, I stand corrected, sanguillen is perfectly legal, and you misunderstood, I was sincere, I wanted you to have him for your sake, not because I didn't think he was valuable. and yes, like clemente and most dark skinned latinos, they never could have played before 1947, so in spirit, he is black.
the sp/rp rule as re-stated from the original rulebook looks like the new explanation...no? my feeble interpretation is if you've got an sp/rp who's in your rotation, he should be same decade as sp....if he's in your pen, he should be in their decade...if he's gonna spot start and relieve, he's got to be in one or the other, or a seperate decade from any of your positions including starters and relievers. if this interpretation is accurate, it actually gives you more flexibility with swing guys instead of being more restrictive.
