I just see that bbrool had mentioned the Giants before I jumped in so I will relinquish my spot if he wants the Giants. I'd be willing to try the Cubs but the Giants were my fav.

Or the Reds because I grew up in their AAA city at the time, Indianapolis.

Old Geezer, You can create a 200M league and you won't have to worry about minimum salary caps. The 200M league is the only one without a minimum salary cap. Obviously no team would even approach 200M but that doesn't matter does it?

On free agents. There will be superstars on teams not selected not even counting the Orioles. To keep this more of a one franchise flavor I suggest limiting the salary for any free agents (non-franchise players) at a certain level so that the non-franchise players don't become the best players on our teams. That way you could fill a hole with a decent player but, if the Red Sox aren't selected for example, you can't go get Rico Petrocelli to play SS for you. I propose limiting these non-franchise free agents somewhere around a 4M salary or less. If we did this then you could get two Oriole players as your two free agents as long as their salaries were less than the free agent salary cap.

In the case of the Pirates where they only have 9 pitchers, I assume that the non-franchise player I select in the autodraft would count as one of my non-franchise free agent players. If you don't have a salary cap for non-franchise free agent players then I could take Andy Messersmith if the Angels aren't selected as an example. All of a sudden my best SP is a player who didn't play for the Pirates. I just don't think that is right.

Just my 2¢

Sounds ok to me. How does 4 MM sound as the limit? I think that is reasonable.

Just to clarify. I believe I saw Geezer post that we would be able to add two non-league, non-Oriole free agents after the auto draft? Correct?

I believe that has changed to 2 sub-4M players from any team not selected for this league, Oriole or any other team.

bomber, you are correct. Two players at 4MM or less from any team not selected. Once we have filled out the managers, I will send you a password and group you into divisions according to team payroll per a list Bernie posted of Team Payroll.
