That was disappointing getting swept at home last night. Congrats Arryl. It makes things a little tighter going down the stretch. With 7 games separating 8 teams, the stretch run should prove interesting.

Well that was definitely not as bad a road trip as I originally had anticipated. Ended up winning 11 of 15 on the road. Now have a brief 6 game homestand before the 12 game roadtrip against the East.

I just finished a dreadful 8-10 homestand, which followed a 16-5 road trip. After the road trip, I had a pretty good lead, and coming home for 18 games. At the time, I was 28-17 at home, so things looked pretty good. After that homestand, things are a lot tighter. Alex, does that make me left-handed, since I did better on the road trip than I did on the homestand?

6 more road games to go, then 6 at home vs the East, and the rest is intra-divisional. :)

Well that road trip to the East was pretty tough. Glad to be at home again. Soon it will be time to play in the division for the stretch run!

Well that about does it for me. I got swept by the Upstate Cowboys?!? I'm 8 games back in the East and something like 5 back of the wildcard. Mathematically out, no. Giving up, no. But likely done, yep.

Its been good. Hope we get a new 2001 league populated soon.

Only 4 back of the WC which is me ... and I'll need to turn it around after this mini-slump to ensure I can keep it.

Homerun record

Postby TOMSKELTON » Tue Oct 24, 2006 5:22 pm

I doubt anyone noticed (and I am sure noone cares), but Barry Bonds of the Usual Suspects has broken the all time 2001 single season homerun record. According to the around the world page, the record for the 2001 season is 102. In our league, Bonds has hit 106 homeruns so far, with 12 games to play. From what I can tell looking at around the world and Mighty Moose's site, this may be an all time record regardless of season. I think his 240 rbi would probably be near the top of the list for most rbi in a season. Like I said, I am sure noone else cares, but I thought it was cool.

That sweep was vital! 3 more nights to go!

Yes I just noticed B. Bonds HR / RBI / Run pace myself - incredible!
