do we have to post a copy of our team we are using? or is it just based on the honor system.

Welcome Bunbury, Mr. Groundhog, Swany

Just 1 to go.

Some rule decisions:

Waiver draft or frenzy (for old time's sake)?

$80 million cap?

I have it that you have to keep your 01 or 02 players all season if you get them in the AD. All in favour? (Would mean no trading or dropping these players)

Will be a DH league.

Posting your first team

Postby BC Manager » Sat Oct 29, 2005 2:58 pm

Bunbury, do NOT post a link to your first team before the league is full -- so we don't know who others will be drafting (there is an 'honor' expectation that you won't try to look up others' teams).

After the league's full we'll all post links. You'll know if everyone stuck to the rules -- if someone ends up with one of your 01/02 players, they must have had them on their first team. That's why you can only supplement with post-2002 players.

Make sense?

BC, I might give it a go depending on a final rule determination. Cap can be either way, but I kind of agree with the 100K idea, since as mentioned the pricing structure has changed dramatically over the years (IE closer prices in '01).
Also have no objection to not allowing you to drop your '01 players, but I think you should be able to trade them. With the rule stating the the team getting the player must keep them. I am flexible with the cap ruling, but I will pass if it is a no trade rule. All other rule discussions don't really matter to me.

I'm flexible on the rules but my druthers would be 100K for reasons already stated as well as if you wind up with expensive bench players you can't drop then the 100k would help mitigate that.

I think not dropping original players is fine but would like to be able to trade them. If the player roster is too restrictive or too hard to make changes to try to improve your team then it won't be much fun if there are serious imbalances in the teams.

As I previously stated, I'm in favor of the 80 million cap. That is what was used for the original teams and a 100 million cap would alter the theme significantly.

I agree with the no drop rule and I propose that you be able to trade your original players; but only to a team that also had that player on their original roster. This would keep the integrity of the concept intact and allow for some flexibility.

post-2002 players

Postby PETERLE » Sun Oct 30, 2005 11:42 am

This maybe a simple question, but how can we tell if a player was only added after 2002? I for one cant remember each player's rookie season. Should we be checking a website that list every ballplayer and look up their rookie year if we have doubts?
