Honestly, I also have no idea where I stand on the B.O. points. Partly because I'm confused on what the total is supposed to be, and partly because I've been concentrating on being in compliance with all the other rules. I am trusting in divine providence, I guess, that I will have achieved the necessary points by the end of the draft. 8)

pick made, j.alou a backup outfielder/dh, so don't go "THEMEING" me!
also looking for a list of negro leaguers who are eligible for our league...for instance pope minosa are guys I could use. once everyone's got atleast one of their negro leaguers or jewish players, are any leftovers fair game? anyone care to list who still needs what in those two shifts, and also update the draft list here...can't do it right now and won't have much computer access today.

Buck theme. I will look for the Negroleaguers in atg3 deck

Postby FoggyOne » Fri Oct 27, 2006 3:09 pm

1. Include a player that played in the negro leagues on your team(feasible? not sure with the other themes if there will be enough and work with the other themes) . YOU MAY NOT HAVE MORE THAN ONE OF SUCH PLAYERS ON YOUR TEAM AND YOUR NEGRO LEAGUER IS EXEMPT FROM YOUR DECADE REQUIREMENT AND MAY NOT BE INCLUDED IN A “GODFATHER TRADE” .

2. You need to have 25 "Buck O'Neil/Negro League" points on your team .

AT ALL TIMES

Points are earned as follows:

A. 1 point for every player on your roster whose last OR FIRST name begins with any letter in "Buck O'Neil". Throw in J, R and D(to honor Larry Doby and Jackie Robinson)

B. 1 point for every player who has a first name, last name or nickname that coincides with the name of any of the 35 in the Hall.

C. 1 point for every black player on your team(2 points if he played in the majors prior to 1954, 3 points if he played in the Negro leagues and 5 points if he played on the Kansas City Monarchs team at any point in his career).

D. 5 points if your team name is the team name of a team in any of the "negro leagues".

E. 5 points if your manager is one of the 35 Negro league HOFers.

F. 5 points for a post here or in league mail as to why you picked the team and player you chose.(No two teams can have the same name nor the same "manager". Choose either or both on this thread, first come first serve.

[b:63b02da0bc]foggy[/b:63b02da0bc] - the drop of milt may already went through...do you want me to re-drop the .5 i picked up in his place and re-add milt may to my team? i am fine doing that, i just processed that move since i didnt hear back from you earlier.

Can I get a ruling as to whether JACK Hiatt is a close enough match to JACKIE Robinson to qualify for a B.O. point (same first name)? Also, do you get TWO points if the first and last name start with letters in BUCK O'NEIL, + J,R,D, or do you just get one point for either (not both)? Actually, as I add up my points, it looks like, with the relaxed requirements from the ORIGINAL B.O. theme, I will have plenty of points - I come up with 36 points as of this moment without adding any for the ones I have questions about. :)
