TSN 9277 - 2001 League Chat Thread!

It all comes down to tonight. Have a 1 game lead in the WC, but if I win 2 or if JKolak loses 2, I clinch because I have a 5-4 record in H2H. Also fighting JKolak for the WC in a 2002 league as well ... hopefully I can win 1 of the 2 battles!

I went 2 for 2 against you AT. This finish in the 2001 league was a miracle. I did not think I had a chance. That was true when my team sank into third with a losing record 2/3rd of the way through the season. This was a competitive league. Better luck next time AT. Although the playing the Usual Suspects in the semifinal series is not my idea of having fun.

Congrats JKolak. I saw you coming and couldn't get out of the way. I seem to do my best when my pitching staff is settled by game 50. Oh well. Good Luck in the next round. When we do another 2001 league, I'm either doing US Cellular or going back to a medium stadium like the BOB or Skydome.

Yeah that was really disappointing. Second time this year I've been swept at home on closing night, where winning but 1 game would have advanced me to the playoffs. And that was 2 sweeps in 4 nights, so 1 win out of those 6 games was the difference maker. Alas not much I can do about it now. Good luck in the playoffs JKolak and the other playoff bound squads.

So how long do you think it'll be til we open new 2001 and 2002 leagues. I want to be in both but I may only be able to afford one both start before mid-November. What do you think?

Congratulations to the Windy City Players & the usual suspects on advancing to the Finals. Condolences to JKolak & Pittsburgh Chipped Ham.

Artemus Rex: Some one may already have started a new 2001 or 2002 league, but I won't be able to purchase a 2001 or 2002 team for a couple of more weeks at least.

[b:fc9651856f]Team Awards:[/b:fc9651856f]

MVP - Luis Gonzalez

Very nice performance from one of my favourite 2001 Players

CY Young - Roy Oswalt

Quite solid effort from my #1 SP ... interesting how so many of my SP lost exactly 8 games.

Rolaids Relief - Ray King

Lots of solid effort IP with close to double digit saves

Surprising Performance - Steve Parris

I had forgotten how solid this guy is against RH Heavy lineups

Disappointing Performance - Roberto Alomar

Well he obviously did better than my original 2B would have, but he still underperformed in my opinion.

Congratulations to the usual suspects on their Championship. The team with the best offense & record won the league. :)

Thanks Arryl. This was a fun league, and a good return to strat after a long hiatus. I have jumped into 2006, with one league starting tonight, and another that just drafted last night. Maybe I'll try one of the other versions soon. Hope to see you all in another league.

And by the way Arryl, I noticed the thread you started regarding Bonds and just posted in it. I was waiting till the playoffs ended to post.
