Back to 1984 - Big Alric's Four of Ten Wins Championship!

Our Mystery Card games - The '70s Game, Back to the '80s, Back to the '90s

For whatever its worth, I'm still totally stoked with this league, even more so since my recent basement finish in 1983.

It seems to me that draft picks and player moves in the off season are much more important than in a typical league, because you are stuck with the results for up 7 seasons at this point. I've been trying to make a lot of roster maneuvers this off-season, with not much success. I'll keep working at it though.

For me Oct-Nov-Dec are VERY BUSY months in the office, so I don't get the same opportunity to slack off during the day to follow the boards as I might in July-August.

Guilty as charged but FYI If I didn't want to be in this league, I would not have signed up....

My work schedule doesn't allow much daytime involvement and weekends ARE my prime time so my times might run counter to most people in this league. What works for me is that I can come home around midnight and check scores, check post, and make my changes.

Sure this has been a difficult draft losing two weeks from the end of the season to the first pick, but is no reason to chuck the whole concept. There are so many pluses to this league and compared to others I have seen in this game.

Limited draft pool
Balanced teams
Progressive draft strategy
Spirited League Discussion

This has been a short hiccup but no real reason to pull the plug

I LOVE the Decade Theme

Postby YountFan » Sun Oct 30, 2005 4:45 pm

I also love the decade theme. In fact if I had to play one this is IT!

Yeah, we gotta wait. It's not big of a deal. It would be nice if people said they were going to be out X days so we all know.

Come on spring training 1984 style is right around the corner.

Don't worry. I have no intention whatsoever about pulling the plug, and never have.

My point was that no one should feel they have to stay in this league out of obligation. If you're no longer enthused and into it, there are plenty of people who'd love to join.

But I'd rather we kept the group we have. The quality of owners we have is one of the reasons this league has been such a success.

This is just a hiccup.

Problems? What problems??

Guys,

I LOVE this theme (best ever I took/take part in) and I like our group of managers. What more should I ask for in (SOM)life?

The 80s Players Spreadsheet

Postby YountFan » Sun Oct 30, 2005 6:12 pm

BC,

The correct file is there, I just tried it on my other computer. Are you sure where you are saving the file? If you just click on the link it will open. Try renaming the one you have, or search your machine for it and see if you have two copies.

I got it, YF. I trashed all my previous versions and renamed the download. Don't know why it was reading the old versions.

I did catch an error in it (newsflash: you're human). W.Hernandez's last year is listed as 83, when in fact it's 86. Don't know how many other errors there may be.

Thanks for doing this YF.

My apologies. I'll pick in a moment. The last couple of days were pretty crazy and I haven't had much of a chance to check in.
