Bunbury, you can use the links above to check if players had cards. In most cases it will be sufficient to just check the 2002 link, but be careful about any players that may have had 01 cards but no 02 cards (due to injury or lack of playing time in 02).

Rules vote

Postby BC Manager » Sun Oct 30, 2005 1:08 pm

Please cut and paste these questions with your preferences:

[b:3a28e74138]$100 or $80 million cap?[/b:3a28e74138]

[b:3a28e74138]Should you be able to move any of your original players? If so, dropping them or just trade them?[/b:3a28e74138]

[b:3a28e74138]Waiver draft or FA frenzy?[/b:3a28e74138]

[b:3a28e74138]Are any of these rule decisions "deal-breakers" for you (as in, you will not participate if the rule goes other than your vote)? If so, which ones?[/b:3a28e74138]

Please post your preferences soon. By tomorrow, I intend to start the league and enter my team based on the responses here. Division alignment will be random.

So if my first team was actually 2003.... even though I went back and played 2001 and 2002.... I would draft from my first 2003 team?????

2003 teams aren't eligible. In your case, we could let you use your first 01 or 02 team (whichever came first).

I don't view this league as much of a theme league right now as managers are off the hook if they manage to avoid receiving their 2001 players in the autodraft. My suggestion is hold two drafts within the autodraft with draft positions 1-15 for 2001/2 players and draft positions 16-25 for free agents for 2003/4/5 players. If 15 players do not remain from your first squad then the last positions in the top 15 may be filled with players under $ 1 MM. Final squad from preseaon must contain at least 15 players from your first team, however acquired from the autodraft, trades or free agency pickups. If 15 players from your first squad are not available, then remain positions may be filled with players under $ 1 MM. I would say we should permit in-season trades as long as team remains with 15 players from the 2001/2 season- not necessarily from their own first team.

$80MM or $100MM both OK, prefer $100MM

Waivers over Frenzy.

Current autodraft and keeper rules are a deal breaker for me.

Swany, I thought of doing something like that. The problem is it's too difficult to enforce people's autodraft lists. We'll never know what order people put their players in. What do others think of Swany's suggestion?

There seem to be numerous different views on how to do this league. I'm concerned whether we'll come up with a set of rules that 12 of us will go along with.

I would not worry about the autodraft lists. Everyone participating is a Vet, they will fill-out an honest "scorecard" once the rules are defined. The way the autodraft is arranged now, I would attempt to dump most of my 2001 players by placing them as low as possible on my autodraft list in hopes I don't land them so that I can fill their slots with 2003-2005 free agents. Not a theme league at all, certainly not one based on our first teams. I agree BC. Once the debate over the rules starts, it just gets harder to reach consensus. Regards, Swany
