you get to protect two players so the two drops are your 3rd and 4th best players which you should be able to replace

rule 12

Postby rgimbel » Fri Nov 03, 2006 1:40 pm

the one thing I think I did wrong on rule 12 was that I should of protected your one pick from the trade doesnt seem fair that the benefit for picking 12th is to get the 1st pick and then you have to include him in a trade

however too late now

I assumed that the players we live draft WOULD be protected from the handicaps. You're telling me that they aren't?

That takes away the [b:16ba48ed98]SOLE[/b:16ba48ed98] benefit that picking later on gets. In other words the owners with good handicaps are [b:16ba48ed98]ALSO[/b:16ba48ed98] guaranteed that the live draft players they take [b:16ba48ed98]ARE[/b:16ba48ed98] protected but the owners stuck with the drop 2 players & the must make a trade handicap [b:16ba48ed98]AREN'T[/b:16ba48ed98]

I am sorry but that is too much of a handicap for an owner to deal with in my opinion.

----

[b:16ba48ed98]6. drop 2- After 81 games you can protect two players but the other 11 mgrs will vote on which two you must drop. you can pu any players to replace but the two players you drop become ineligible for you.[/b:16ba48ed98]

Basically that means you only get to protect [b:16ba48ed98]ONE[/b:16ba48ed98] additional player, apart from your live drafted player, so why bother taking a stud player in the 2nd round if you know you're forced to protect him anyways.

[b:16ba48ed98]12*. approve a trade- no restrictions but after 81 games you must agree to a trade with the team with the worst record. and if you are the worst team no trade has to made. trade will can include only one max player (over 6m) one 3.5-6m players with a max of 4 players total from the team with the handicap the worst team has no restrictions on his end.[/b:16ba48ed98]

Again, that means A. Rod or R. Clemens or any other stud player that you take in the 2nd round to go with this handicap could be taken away in the trade.

In essence the 2 owners stuck with these handicaps get handicapped twice. Firstly with the tough handicap and secondly with the fact that their live drafted players are not protected (but everyone elses are) from the handicap.

no you are correct just thought that I didnt explain it correctly and since I am picking last. people would think I am changing it if it is ok with everyone I do think that the live draft should be protected in both cases

Fine here. Those with the lower handicaps shouldn't have any more angst than they may already have.
