B. Clark vs. Thames

I've got Brady Clark as my DH in Kaufmann. There are 2 MM's in my division and another MM and a Cell in the league. I picked up Thames post waivers with the thought of sitting Clark and using him as DH against these 4 teams. I'm not a power park guy so am not sure if this is the right move. My power guys now are Tony Clark and Winn.

If you have the cap room to afford both it would be a good idea to use Thames at the power parks and Clark everywhere else. If it is one or the other then deffinately keep Clark over Thames.

I'd keep them both.

I was in a all-Coors league where a guy had Thames and he hit like 50 HR's.

But Clark is no slouch. He'll put up some nice #'s at a great price.

Throughout the four years I've been playing SOM on TSN, one of the most commonly used strategies has been to use cheap SPs based on the parks/teams you were playing. You would have a nickel hard righty and a nickel hard lefty and you'd spot them up against the Wrigley team or the Shea team.

It's my opinion that the strategy now should be to take a lineup spot, ideally the DH and do the same with a hitter rather than a pitcher. If you've got two MMs and a Cell in your division, I highly recommend using Thames over Clark in those parks. It's power platooning rather than lefty/righty platooning. You have to have a certain number of bench guys anyway. Thames is the kind of guy you would use as a bench backup, with his low cost. Why not use him in the places where you can take advantage of his strengths? That way he's not just using up .58 of salary only to fill in when somebody gets hurt. If you have three or four guys used for exactly the same reason you can get your whole bench involved and have much more money left over to spend on regular starters.
